Casualty fans all have the same complaint as show returns for first episode of 2023

CASUALTY fans were all left complaining about the same thing as the show kicked off its first episode of the year.

The BBC One drama made its return as a fire took over a local retirement home sending many of its occupants to the ED.

Dylan, played by William Beck, was forced to deal with many of them including a former doctor herself, Dr Jemima Hargrove.

Jemima was left shocked when her friend from the home succumbed to her injuries right in front of her after the medical team failed to resuscitate her.

Having been questioned by the police earlier about the beginnings of the blaze, Jemima admitted to Dylan that she was responsible for the fire and for 'killing her best friend'.

Dylan was left shocked by her admission but believed it was down to something else as he began to suspect she was being abused by her own son.

Later as Jemima suddenly passed from her injuries in the fire, Dylan was left even more suspicious when her son did not seem too fussed about his mother's passing, leading him to furiously accuse him of having abused his mother in front of a police officer.

Despite all the high octane drama, fans were left distracted by the consistent use of incidental music throughout the episode and were left annoyed by its inclusion.

One fan even raged that the music portrayed the show as a 'comedy' as opposed to a 'drama'.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "This music... makes it sound like a comedy not a drama. Come on Casualty stop with the music please!"

Another raged: "What's with the stupid music. I thought I'd see if I can get back into it after not watching for a while. I'm sure that wasn't part of the show before."

A third quickly followed up: "Stop with all the background music its awful."

Whilst a fourth penned: "This is one of those episodes that really overuses the incidental music a bit. It's alright in small doses, but it's annoying when it's scenes that don't really fit with it."

Also during the episode, Rash was left wondering what his father was up to and was left saddened at discovering that he may be seriously unwell.
