Graham Norton reveals he turned down chance to join huge ITV show

CHAT host Graham Norton has turned down the chance to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

The star, 59, had been in advanced talks to replace David Walliams.

But the deal collapsed with auditions at the London Palladium weeks away.

A source said: “Bosses had their hearts set on Graham.

"He is so popular with viewers and would make a great addition.

“Money was not the issue but, after some thought, Graham realised it was not a project he wanted to take on right now.”

Graham’s BBC1 show is in its 16th year.

He is a Virgin Radio DJ and writes novels.

Comedian David, 51, is quitting after ten years.

He recently apologised for foul-mouthed comments about contestants.

Producers could now sign another comic to join judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

BGT said: “The line-up will be announced in due course.”
