Coronation Street fans call out major point blunder in Alya Nazir bomb scene
ALYA Nazir made a heroic move during last night's trip to the cobbles and narrowly escaped death.
Yet eagle-eyed Coronation Street viewers struggled to accept the scene as realistic.
Chaos took over Weatherfield on Wednesday evening as Griff Reynolds' plan was finally revealed.
The new year began with a literal bang on ITV when the activist played by Michael Condron and his far-right gang planted a bomb in a Speed Daal van.
Max Turner (portrayed by Paddy Bever) was on to the racist thug and immediately warned Yasmeen and Alya Nazir (Shelley King and Sair Khan).
While they initially didn't believe the lad, both women were forced to accept he was right when Alya found a wire out of place in the vehicle.

The wire was connected to a bomb with a timer, sending the three characters into a panic.
Although her grandmother refused to let her go, Alya took it upon herself to drive the van as far aware as possible from the cobbles, where Maria Connor hosted the Weatherfield Peace Market.
Time was quickly running out for the Speed Daal co-owner and viewers were terrified she wouldn't make it.
Fans of the long-running drama had to wait until after a commercial break to find out Alya survived the explosion.
Soap viewers were divided between relief to see Alya alive and exasperation.
They failed to believe the character would have ever been able to climb out of her vehicle mere seconds before the explosion.
Many of them turned to Twitter to share their thoughts and they didn't hold back.
"So Alya drove for 10 minutes supposedly and got just round the corner judging by the blast, but was then able to walk back home in about two minutes staggering while being injured", one viewer penned.

Another angrily added: "How pathetic these soaps are getting. And how could they hear the explosion after she had been driving for 10 minutes."
"Please Corrie the explosion Alya had two seconds before it went off and now she’s alive and walking it’s all but too much to believe", a third commented.
"Not Alya driving for 10 mins but everyone still hearing the explosion", another chimed in while one viewer echoed: "Alya cannot have survived that even though it was probably the worst explosion Weatherfield has seen."
Following the dramatic events, PC Craig Tinker paid Yasmeen a visit with Alya in tow and the latter refused to get her head wound checked out.
Yasmeen eventually managed to convince her to go to hospital.
Meanwhile, Max was left with his father David Platt and confronted by the police.
The authorities took him in for questioning and, after being groomed by Griff, Max decided to get rid of the activist's hold over him and followed the officers.
Will he face any charges?
Will Griff get caught?
