Good Morning Britain ‘feud’ rumours sparked after presenter goes ‘missing’

GOOD Morning Britain viewers worried about the whereabouts of host Charlotte Hawkins after she was "missing" from a New Year's Day post.

The ITV breakfast show shared a tweet which read: "Happy New Year from the GMB team!"

But the picture attached only featured Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.

Many viewers were quick to ask where the rest of the team - and regular presenter Charlotte Hawkins was.

One wondered: "Where’s the rest of the team? lol."

Another asked: "Where’s Charlotte?"

Someone else said: "Where's gorgeous Gordon Smart.....do hope he's a permanent fixture."

Charlotte and Gordon Smart presented the show together last week in between Christmas and New Year.

They were a hit with viewers, with one saying: "Handsome pairing Charlotte Hawkins & Gordon Smart.

"A level headed presenting team no one was shouting when asking the questions.

Many took to Twitter to welcome the new host, and call for him to become a "permanent presenter" on the programme.

"Good hunky looks aside, he's definitely doing a good job," one fan penned. "Let's make him a permanent presenter."

"Great to see Gordon on today, a breath of fresh air and I hope he can stay," a second chimed in to agree.

"Gordon is a great new addition! Love to see more of him," a third added, while another viewer said: "Really liked him, he should be on more often."

It comes after it was revealed there would be a major presenter shake-up, as Ben was replaced by Gordon.

Gordon said of his new role: "I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing stable of talent, in front and behind the camera, on Good Morning Britain. 

"So many of the issues facing the country right now are close to home and I’m relishing the chance to join the debate.”

Regular presenters Susanna Reid, Richard Madeley, Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and Martin Lewis will all return in the New Year.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
