  • What time is the Masked Singer on?

Still got enough time to get your dinner on, or what the heck, order a take-away.

The Masked Singer is on at 6.30pm tonight on ITV1.

  • Show goes to great lengths to prevent spoilers leaking

In order to protect and stop the identities of the singers leaking, not all audience members get to see the unmasking

The whole show is filmed in front of about 500 people who watch the show, right up to the point until the celebrity is about to take off their mask.

At this point, most of the audience have to leave the studio, with only about 30 or so people staying to see the big reveal, so as to minimise spoilers leaking.

Both parts are then edited together, with viewers at home none the wiser about the switch-up.

Those who apply for tickets to watch the show are warned of this in advance, so they are not disappointed when they go to watch it..

According to , who deal with tickets for the show, all audience members are also required to sign a release form, which contains “confidentiality clauses” to stop them telling others about who is unmasked on the show.

  • Strict show rules – including no phones

Rita and Mo have their phones taken off them during filming.

Jonathan recently revealed that Rita Ora had her mobile confiscated on set, telling : “Rita got told off for using her phone in all the breaks, because you know young people and their phones cannot be separated.

”In the end now, they take her phone off her. When we start recording, they remove Rita Ora’s phone so she cannot have access to the gram while she’s doing the show.”

Mo Gilligan then revealed he also had his phone taken away by bosses, but apparently Jonathan and Davina don’t have to follow these rules.

  • Strict show rules – codenames for the celebs

The singers have no idea who all the other stars on the show are.

The celebrities genuinely have no idea who else is appearing on the show with them, and so they find out at the same time the rest of the public does.

As well as character names, the celebrities also have codenames, which are used by the production team to stop others knowing who the celebrity under the costume is.

For example, in previous years ex-EastEnders star Patsy Palmer (aka as Butterfly), was “Square” and The Darkness singer Justin Hawkins (aka Chameleon) was “Light”.

  • Natalie Imbruglia on winning last year's show

Speaking after her win, one-time Neighbours star Natalie said: "I just loved being Panda. When I put the costume on I would just become Panda.

"I stayed in an American accent the whole time so if I sound weird that's because I have been flipping.

"I just had so much fun. I made friends with a traffic cone and a mushroom. This is an amazing show and I am thrilled to have been a part of it."

  • Who won The Masked Singer 2022?

PandaMushroom and Robobunny all reached the final of the Masked Singer, but only one person could come out on top.

From third to first, the stars unveiled their true identity throughout the show.

Coming in third place was Robobunny, who was revealed to be Mark Feehily.

Speaking after his reveal, Mark said: "The whole thing was a challenge but it has led me to explore my voice."

Coming in second place was Mushroom - and everyone seemed to know who that was.

Charlotte Church was revealed, much to no one's surprise.

But it was Panda who took top spot, and also took many by surprise.

Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia was revealed, and couldn't hide her delight at winning the show

  • Who won The Masked Singer in 2021?

In February 2021, singer Joss Stone, dressed as Sausage, was crowned winner of season 2.

In the final, she beat Aston Merrygold as Robin, Ne-Yo as Badger, keeping the panel and the public guessing until the very end.

The singer, who was heavily pregnant beneath her costume, shocked the judges as she revealed her identity.

Speculations about who the Sausage was, included Stacey Solomon and Sheridan Smith as the two most-likely to be under the mask, but eagle-eyed fans of the show followed the clues to guess that it was actually Joss.

  • Who are The Masked Singer judges?

Everyone from the celebrity panel in the previous seasons has confirmed they are returning in January.

Television presenter Davina McCall, singer-songwriter Rita Ora, broadcaster Jonathan Ross and British comedian Mo Gilligan are all joining the celebrity panel to try to guess who is hiding behind the costumes.

In the previous seasons, guest panellists such as series one winner Nicola Roberts, also made an appearance.

  • Who hosts The Masked Singer?

Presenter Joel Dommett is back to host the show once again, after winning the hearts of the public in the first two seasons.

Because the masked singers’ identities are kept hidden even from the host, Joel  he had no idea who a few of the celebrities were, resulting in some funny and awkward revelations.

He admitted he didn’t recognise A-ha singer Morten Harket when he came out from under his Viking costume, which lead to “the most awkward interview” he had ever done.

Joel said: “The problem is that I don’t know everyone in the world when they are revealed.

“You can guarantee the less I know them, the more energy I put into the reveal.”

  • Davina McCall reveals trick she uses to guess stars on The Masked Singer

DAVINA McCALL and Rita Ora battle to outsmart each other when guessing the hidden identities of celebrity contestants on The Masked Singer.

But away from the hugely popular ITV reality show, they have grown so close that they see each other as sisters.

  • Classic reveals: Joss Stone as Sausage

Badger missed out on the top spot of the competition thanks to singing sensation Sausage, who kept fans guessing.

Taking part in the second series of the show in 2021, fans and judges alike were totally convinced the star was Sheridan Smith or Stacey Solomon.

They couldn't work out the distinctive tone in the character's voice, or their accent - which they thought could be fake.

While Rita and Jonathan were sure it was a TV star, the masked celebrity turned out to be soul singer Joss Stone.

She managed to go totally undetected by the judges through the whole series and win the Masked Singer title.

  • Remember when Ne-Yo was unmasked as Badger?

While Cee Lo Green was one major pop star who graced the show - he wasn't alone in being the only major hitmaker.

After seven weeks of viewers desperately trying to figure out the identity of Badger, he was unmasked as a major R&B star.

Ne-Yo shocked everyone apart from guest judge Nicola Roberts, who managed to foil his identity.

The singer made it to the final of the competition before losing out to co-star Sausage as he was unmasked.

Ne-Yo, 43, who is best known for his track Miss Independent, had the audience screaming and jumping at his reveal.

"Grammy award winner and Hollywood actor, Ne-Yo," host Joel Dommett said, almost in disbelief, as he took off his mask.

Fans were shocked to see Ne-Yo
  • Classic reveals: John Thompson revealed as Bush Baby

Bush Baby had fans and the judges confused for many episodes of the competition, due to a number of cryptic clues.

The mystery star even put on a fake Australian accent to throw everyone off - and it worked a treat.

Making it far into the competition, with fans rooting for Bush Baby to win, it took a while for John Thompson to be unmasked.

The actor and comedian, who starred in Cold Feet and Coronation Street, made it down to the final eight.

John, 53, even managed to fool his old pal Jonathan, 62, who he had worked with on a number of comedy shows.

As he removed the mask, he laughed while comedian Mo Gilligan shook his head saying: "That is a good one man."

John had tried to throw the panel off with a fake Aussie accent
  • Remember when Cee Lo Green was unmasked as Monster?

    Cee Lo Green as Monster

Back in 2020, big, cuddly and furry character Monster hit the screens - wowing fans at home with his impressive voice.

And while he was foiled by fans - who took to Twitter in their masses to unmask the star as Cee Lo Green - the judging panel struggled to work him out.

Despite his distinctive singing voice, their guesses were way off, with Jonathan Ross adamant the star was Noel Fielding.

When the Forget You singer was unmasked, he left the panel and the live studio audience in a stunned silence.

  • Fans believe they've already worked out who Phoenix is

The Masked Singer is set to return to TV tonight - with a whole host of hidden celebrities for fans to guess.

However, while none of the stars have performed on screen yet, it hasn't stopped fans from making their first guesses.

Viewers are certain they have already worked out the identity of Phoenix, after just seeing the mystery star in the preview.
