This blog has been paused until next Friday, but we will be back then for more Masked Singer news.

    See you soon!

  • Who left the show on the first episode of this year's The Masked Singer?

The Masked Singer returned to British television last week with 12 new costumed acts.

Fans are spiralling in theories about who is behind the mask, however, one has already been uncovered.

Ex-footballer and TV presenter Chris Kamara was revealed as Ghost after he landed in the bottom three and was voted out by judges.

Kamara said: "I loved it. It was simple but that’s what I really liked about it. It was hard to sing in though.

"I never realised how hard that would be. It’s very claustrophobic."

  • The ghost costume did not go down well with the fans

Masked Singer fans were left shocked by the Ghost's costume during the premiere of Series 4.

Chris Kamara hid behind a skeleton costume and a white sheet to make him look like the scary spirit, finishing it off with red boots.

Fans took to social media to comment about how they were left unimpressed with the costume.

One viewer said: "Obviously run out of budget when it got to ghosts costume."

Another posted: "Whoever ghost is spent their costume budget on stuff other than the costume."

A third said: "Did @itvstudios run out of budget for the ghost costume… it’s literally a sheet."

  • Fans stunned by Rita Ora

Rita, 32, wore a striking gown which featured a nude coloured bustline and straps before moving down to a metallic shimmering fabric.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "@RitaOra looking absolutely amazing tonight on #TheMaskedSingerUK."

Another added: "Holy f**k! Rita Ora is looking drop dead gorgeous on #TheMaskedSingerUK."

A third tweeted: "When she does it right, she slays, Rita looks very pretty tonight."

  • Lulu 'shocked' after being voted off

She said: "I'm feeling a bit shocked, I was in and now I'm out."

She added: "My grandchildren love this show, they love it, I love it, so that's why I'm here."

Host Joel Demmott asked: "Why did you decide to be piece of cake?"

Lulu replied: "Because I'm so terribly sweet...sometimes."

Fans said the clues pointed to them being Martin and Shirlie Kemp.

The couple shot to fame in the 80s with Martin playing bass in Spandau Ballet and Shirlie as a backing singer for Wham!.

But remembering that Martin also had an acting career and played EastEnders villain Steve Owen, one fan said on Reddit: "There was a picture of Queen Victoria, so that could be your Eastenders reference."

Another claimed they spotted a reference to his pop star credentials and Spandau Ballet.

They penned: "Yer, this one was easy.

"The first thing mouse did was steal the cheese, SB has a song called steal.

"'No stranger to legalities' would be a judge. Martin has been a judge on many things like Let It Shine."

The theory gained momentum and more fans piled in, with another pointing to a Spice Girls reference.

PandaMushroom and Robobunny all reached the final of the Masked Singer, but only one person could come out on top.

Coming in third place was Robobunny, who was revealed to be Mark Feehily.

Speaking after his reveal, Mark said: “The whole thing was a challenge but it has led me to explore my voice.”

Coming in second place was Mushroom – and everyone seemed to know who that was.

Charlotte Church was revealed, much to no one’s surprise.

But it was Panda who took top spot, and also took many by surprise.

  • Natalie Imbruglia on winning last year’s show

Speaking after her win, one-time Neighbours star Natalie said: “I just loved being Panda. When I put the costume on I would just become Panda.

“I stayed in an American accent the whole time so if I sound weird that’s because I have been flipping.

“I just had so much fun. I made friends with a traffic cone and a mushroom. This is an amazing show and I am thrilled to have been a part of it.”
