Coronation Street fans predict Christmas Day murder as undercover cop Spider makes fatal blunder
CORONATION Street fans are predicting a Christmas Day murder after Spider Nugent slipped up.
The undercover police officer - who is played by actor Martin Hancock in the ITV soap - is working to bring down far right gang leader Griff.
He has failed so far with a bomb Griff made going off during a camping trip and injuring Max Turner.
The teenager was left with serious burns after the explosion but Griff forced him to lie and say it was a camping stove injury when the police turned up.
The police claimed a farmer had reported an explosion but Griff was suspicious.
And then Spider made a cock-up.
“That was close, flaming nosy farmer sticking their oars in,” said Spider but Griff caught it realising Spider couldn’t have heard what the police said.
“Who said it was a farmer?” he said.
Spider tried to play it down, saying: “Or hikers, or whatever. That’s the trouble with the countryside, full of do-gooders.”
“Whatever happened, we can’t afford anymore slip ups,” said Griff.

“Max was this close to blabbing.”
Spider was left rattled and decided to take action by distancing himself from Toyah again - so soon after confiding in her about his undercover work.
And fans are convinced Griff caught his slip up and is going to take horrifying revenge.
They are sure Christmas Day on the cobbles will be blighted by murder.
One wrote: "They're not gonna kill off spider are they."
A second said: "So if that's Spider - is Toyah a Black Widow? #corrie."
Another added: Wonder if Spider will last much longer
