THE Traitors contestants were left stunned as one player revealed they had been concealing their real identity the whole time.

Maddy Smedley, who works in a care home, has previously worked as an actress having one-episode guest spots in shows such as EastEnders and Casualty.

However she has been keeping this information to herself in a bid to avoid arousing suspicion that her acting skills may have helped her to play her way through the game.

Maddy made the shock decision to reveal all to her fellow players at the breakfast meeting as she decided she wanted to come clean about her big secret.

After arriving to breakfast with Amanda, who is a traitor unbeknown to Maddy and the rest of the group, she decided to lift the lid on her previous career:

Maddy said: "I do wanna say guys... I'm working in a care home but I have done some acting work.

Her fellow players, including Meryl, Amanda and Kieran, were left open-mouthed at her jaw-dropping revelation.

Theo explained how he felt his 'trust' he built up with Maddy could have disappeared as a result of her bombshell.

Secret traitor Amanda used the piece of information to her advantage as she got Maddy having worked into an actress into a number of conversations.

She insisted Maddy must be good at what she does as a result of her having 'scenes' as opposed to just working 'as an extra'.

However some fans felt Maddy had over-egged her acting past as well as making the wrong decision to reveal all.

One said: "Why is everyone acting like Maddy has just told them she was basically the biggest actress in Hollywood when she was just an extra in some BBC shows lmao."

A second added: "This Maddy is making out she's an Oscar winning actress or something."

As a third said: "Whyyy has Maddy just told them all she's an actress she's ruined it for herself now lol."

Earlier this week it was revealed that she played the role of Rita, a homeless woman in BBC soap opera EastEnders.

The character of Rita appeared in just one singular episode where Maddy's character met Bailey Baker whilst out on the streets.

Maddy appeared in the guest role in May 2021.

However her acting endeavours did not strop there as she played an unnamed part in an episode of the BBC drama Casualty.
