Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss death updates — Ellen DeGeneres’ DJ mourned by wife in heartbreaking new post

STEPHEN "tWitch" Boss' wife shared a touching photo of the pair one week after his tragic death.

Allison Holker posted a selfie with tWitch, along with the heartbreaking caption: "My ONE and ONLY Oh how my heart aches. We miss you so much."

His mother, Connie Boss Alexander, turned to social media to express gratitude to supporters for their prayers in a post on her Instagram Stories, as memorials and tributes to The Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ continue to pour in.

She also shared a photo from a FaceTime call along with the caption: "Oh if only I could FT to heaven…"

Last week, tWitch reportedly checked into a motel close to his home, and the next day was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The dancer, DJ, and actor reportedly died from suicide.

    Ashton said her family were in a state of shock, as they were "trying to understand how someone who loved his children so much could do something like suicide."

    To help them come to terms with what happened, Ashton said her psychologist assured them in a way she "will never forget for the rest of my life."

    She said the psychologist told them: "Here's one way to understand how different a suicidal mind is versus a non-suicidal mind.

  • Good Morning America's Jennifer Ashton opens up about husband's suicide

    GMA's Jennifer Ashton has revealed the heartbreaking way a psychologist helped her family deal with her husband's tragic suicide.

    The physician and author opened up about her family's ordeal following her husband Robert's sudden suicide in 2017.

    Speaking on Good Morning America, Dr Ashton shared how her psychologist explained the heart-wrenching difference between a suicidal mind and a non-suicidal mind.

    She revealed that following the loss of her husband, her family were in a psychologist's office less than 24 hours later.

    Blake's followers were stunned, taking to the comments to slam him as "tone deaf."

    "Of ALL the days to post this? Doesn’t matter what the brand stands or the launch..." one wrote.

    "This is pretty terrible timing," a second agreed, while a third remarked: "…little tone deaf if you ask me."

    "Truly a suggestion, maybe acknowledging the loss that the dance community experienced today, would help with the impact of this message sending," a fourth suggested.

    "My first thought was 'is he trying to profit off what happened?' And I know that’s not it because you’re a good person, but do you see how it could look that way?" a fifth asked.

  • Blake Horstmann slammed by fans

    Fans have slammed Blake Horstmann for posting an upbeat dance video just hours after DJ tWitch's death was announced.

    Fans were appalled to see the dancer's friend, Bachelorette star Blake Horstmann, share a happy-go-lucky video just hours after the news broke.

    The reality star took to his  on Wednesday night to post a video of himself dancing as he promoted the brand Be A Good Person's crewneck sweatshirts.

    The TV personality smiled and clicked his heels together down a palm-tree-lined street in LA while marketing the clothing.

    “We’re just so excited about this launch, and it really is something that is made for everybody,” tWitch told .

    He continued: “The quality is incredible, the value is incredible. We got pieces ranging from $12 to $50.”

    “You don’t have to break the bank for this incredible quality, and you know it’s also going to a good cause, and you’re going to feel fly, so that’s just a win-win,” the dancer concluded.

    The collab features men’s and women’s looks, including matching sweat sets to beanies.

  • Stephen 'tWitch' Boss's mother thanks fans

    Connie Boss Alexander, spoke out for the first time following her son's death.

    On her Instagram story Thursday, Alexander issued a statement where she thanked everyone for their support.

    She shared, "Family and friends, thank you for all the love, prayers and encouragement, Please know I see all the messages, texts, posts and the phone calls. I can't use words right now. Please know I will reach out when I can."

  • Grandfather reveals last words

    tWitch’s grandfather, Eddy Boss told the Daily Mail that  last words to him were, “I love you Dad-Dad.”

    Eddy said there were no signs of suicidal thoughts leading up to tWitch’s death and they had spoken the Saturday before he died.

    tWitch’s grandfather said, “He was the same happy-go-lucky person that he’s always been. We had no indication that anything was out of the ordinary.”

    He added, “He was a very humble, generous person. He brought light into everybody’s lives. We’re completely devastated right now.”

    Stephen, tWitch Boss celebrated his 40th birthday on September 29th.

    His mother took to  to wish her son a Happy Birthday stating, “All the professional accomplishments not withstanding, what strikes me more is the man you have become…

    from a son and brother, to a husband and father.. I couldn’t have envisioned a better journey.. Not always easy but oh the outcome is….everything!🌍”

    His wife, Allison Holker also  to celebrate tWitch’s birthday and she added, “I love you so much! You are such an incredible husband, father and I am always so impressed with the way you continue to grow in every aspect of life!

    You are a constant source of inspiration and love!!”

    Emmy and NAACP Image Award winning Comedian and Celebrity Host Loni Love posted videos of tWitch from his 40th birthday on Twitter.

    In the videos tWitch seems happy as he's smiling and dancing around with guests.

    Above the videos she : "A kind soul and a sweet person.. that is how I will remember Twitch... This was his 40th birthday party .. my heart goes out to his family especially Allison and their beautiful kids.. this is devastating... I love you brother and will miss you dearly."

    Under Kalen Allen's heartfelt tweet he shared a bunch of smaller tweets thanking tWitch for everything.

    He continued underneath the message by saying, "In a world where it was easy to get lost in the shadows, I am grateful that we always saw each other. We were each other's number one fan and often the light in each other's darkest hours. I am very sorry that the darkness found a voice this time and became too loud."

    Allen added, "I called you on Friday for our usual check-in because I randomly thought about when I came over for dinner, and you served me some bland ass corn and didn't drain the water. Hahaha."

    Guest contributor for the Ellen DeGeneres show Kalen Allen shared a sweet message to his Twitter upon finding out of the late tWitch's death.

    Kalen , "To my beloved friend, confidant, and brother… God knows, my heart is at a standstill because I have never known a friend like you. No words, dance, or show can adequately capture just how magnificent your existence was to this world and me."

    Attached to the tweet was a picture of both arm in arm with tWitch smiling and Kalen blowing a kiss.

    Actress Kerry Washington posted a touching message to her Twitter after learning of tWitch's untimely death.

    The "Scandal" actress : "The world lost a bright light today. Twitch brought joy and love to people all over the world through music and through dance. My heart is heavy today for his family and all of those who knew and loved him."

    Under the touching message she urged others to love one another writing, "You never know what people are struggling with or going through. Hug your loved ones. Call your friends.   • Other ventures tWitch was involved in, continued

    Stephen had several other ventures, including hosting the show Fairy Tale Weddings with Allison on Disney+ from 2018 until 2020.

    The docuseries focuses on couples who have Disney-themed weddings and engagements at resorts like Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line and Aulani in Hawaii.

    Stephen and Allison also appeared in the Disney musical special The Hip Hop Nutcracker, which dropped last month.

    tWitch might best be known for being the DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres show from 2014 until the show's cancellation in 2022 but tWitch was involved in many projects.

    He choreographed for South Korean pop/R&B singer Seven and assisted in the development of Big Bang and other YG Entertainment performers.

    He appeared in Blades of Glory as a "flamboyant dancer" and in Hairspray as a Maybelle's Store Dancer in 2007.

  • tWitch and Allison planned on having more children

    Just weeks prior to his passing, Holker and Boss sat down for an interview with Jennifer Hudson, where they revealed that they were considering having more kids.

    According to , when Hudson asked if they "miss having a newborn in the house," Holker said: "I sure do."

    "I think we would love to start trying for another one," she continued.

    "I love the little babies, I love them. It's a constant conversation," Boss added.

    Despite having high-profile parents, the Boss kids often stay out of the spotlight.

    She turned to her co-hosts and continued: "When I got home, my daughter said, 'I need to tell you something. It's really going to get you.' And it really got me. You know?"

    "Because you knew him," co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in.

    "Yeah," Whoopi said. "And- and it can't-. When somebody's in that much pain, there's not much you can do."

    "So, we always want to say to everyone sitting, listening, if somebody you know is struggling, there is help available. You can call the suicide and crisis hotline at 9-8-8."

    The moderator turned towards her co-host and asked: "Is that right? 9-8-8."

    They told her she was correct and solemnly, Whoopi turned back to the camera and said: "Ok. We'll be right back."

    The View host Whoopi Goldberg got choked up and admitted she was "heartbroken" on live TV when discussing the passing of her friend Stephen tWitch Boss.

    After talking about the problems the Royal Family is facing, Whoopi introduced a more serious topic.

    Before she spoke, she held her hands up and sat in silence, trying to collect her thoughts.

    "This is something that broke our hearts yesterday," she said.

    "Uh, to hear about the tragic death of Stephen 'tWitch' Boss. You know, I-," Whoopi began as she stumbled on her words.

    "I-I loved his dancing. I loved his energy. I didn't realize he had been on Ellen's Show because I never got around to watch the TV show that that's who they were talking about."

    When a loved one dies by suicide, it leaves the family in shock and sadness.

    Katie Hurley, a licensed clinical social worker told , "We don't ever get to know why someone took their own life and that's really hard."

    She continued, "Even if a note is left, it doesn't really give us closure."

    Hurley recommends to those coping with the loss of a loved one to make a list of the ways you supported them to remind yourself it's no one's fault.

    tWitch's shocking death was jarring news and caused many to rethink how suicide is discussed.

    According to the risk factors that can lead to death by suicide include previous attempts, phsychaitric illnesses, and a history of trauma and abuse.

    April Naturale, Ph.D. and director of the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline told that the most important thing is letting people know you're available to talk.

    She stated, "Knowing that they're not alone is a really important message to give to people, especially those who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts."

  • Suicide in the US, concluded

    Suicide has become a major cause of concern in the US.

    According to the , for every death by suicide, four people are hospitalized for attempts, eight emergency department visits occur related to suicide, twenty-seven people report attempts, and 275 people seriously consider death by suicide.

    In addition, males make up nearly 80percent of suicides and people over the age of 85 have the highest rates of suicide.

    tWitch's death has initiated conversations about mental health and suicide rates in the US.

    According to the suicide was the 10th leading cause of death in 2020 in the US for people ages 10 to 64.

    In addition, over 45,000 people died by suicide in 2020, over 1million adults attempted, and another 12million reportedly "seriously thought" about suicide.

    tWitch's death has ignited conversations worldwide about the topic of mental health.

    April Naturale, Ph.D. and director of the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline told that although it's shocking to see someone as happy and successful as tWitch die by suicide, it's not uncommon.

    Naturale stated,  "We know that anybody can continue to put out a certain way of being in their work life or with family and friends and not let them know that they may be experiencing serious depressive symptoms or anxiety symptoms or some severe stress from a traumatic event."
