Shaun Wallace reveals only way he would leave The Chase as The Dark Destroyer
SHAUN Wallace has revealed the only way he would leave The Chase as The Dark Destroyer.
Shaun, 62, is one of the ITV show's original two Chasers alongside Mark Labbett.
Both men have been on The Chase since it began in 2009 and have watched as four other Chasers joined the ranks.
Shaun also works as a barrister and despite having to juggle his day job with filming requirements, he has no plans to take a step back from the show in the near future.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, he explained: "No [I'd never stop], the only time I would stop if I was told [by bosses] that I was no longer needed, so from my perspective, no."
As for how the dynamic has changed over the years when the new Chasers joined, Shaun said: "It doesn't, because everyone who has come on has been chosen for a reason and they bring their own sort of unique brand to The Chase brand."

Shaun was full of praise for the show's newest Chaser, Darragh Ennis, who joined in November 2020 after previously appearing as a contestant.
"And you know, Darragh has been absolutely fantastic, and it just goes to show that going from being a contestant to a fantastic Chaser has not changed him.
"And it just goes to show that dreams like that can come true and he's been a wonderful addition."
He concluded: "Everybody who's come since both myself and Mark started have contributed to the success of the show, and they've taken that a stage further."
Earlier this week, Shaun opened up about his time on the show during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
When asked how he splits his time between his legal work and the show, he said: "It’s 50/50 but I always wanted to be remembered as a barrister who happened to be on TV not the other way around.
"Although I’m grateful I’m on a hugely successful show, the one thing I don’t take for granted is a, my position on it and b, me answering the questions as a Chaser.
“I’m only as good as the last question I answered correctly and as a barrister I’m only as good as my last closing speech.”
The Chase airs weeknights at 5pm on ITV1.
