Love Island fans spot sign Luca Bish is still secretly plotting a reconciliation with Gemma Owen
LOVE Island fans have become convinced Luca Bish is on a secret mission to win back Gemma Owen following their split.
The couple met and fell in love on the ITV2 reality series and even made it to the final. But after just three months called it quits.
It's since been reported by sources close to them that Luca was "blindsided" by the break-up, with the split being Gemma's decision.
But that hasn't stopped the fishmonger and social media star from keeping friendly tabs on her family members, liking posts made by her footballer dad Michael Owen on Instagram as he holidays in South Africa.
The former England player shared pictures from a safari, including a pic of him feeding a giraffe from his car.
There's been long-standing suggestion that Michael never fully approved of his daughter's choice of boyfriend, swerving public appearances with them and not even arriving at the airport to see Gemma and Luca once they touched back down in the UK.
But despite this, just jours before the split was announced by Gemma online, Luca was bigging up Gemma and even shared his excitement of spending Christmas with her for the first time.
However, in a statement, Gemma wrote: "I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn’t an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for both of us right now.
"Many of you have been on this journey with us from the beginning and I want to thank you for your continued support as a new chapter starts."

Luca responded with his own statement that read: “Switched my phone back on after taking some time out to clear my head after an emotional afternoon to thousands of messages and news articles about my breakup.

“I would have liked to have had some time to process this privately but as you all already now know, Gemma and I made the mutual decision earlier today to go our separate ways. We have been on such a journey together and have made some amazing memories which I will treasure.
";I can’t thank everyone enough for their support for us as a couple during and after Love Island. We will remain good friends and I wish nothing but the best for her."
Luca's Love Island pals flocked to offer their support, including Gemma's ex Jacques O'Neill who said: "My brother always got you."
Dami Hope said: "Luca Bish has entered the chat let’s f***** ave itttt."
Andrew Le Page said: "Get up to London soon brother."
Davide Sanclimenti, who won the series with girlfriend Ekin-Su, later shared he had also reached out to him.
He said: "I had a conversation with Luca after the breakup with Gemma just to make sure he was okay."
"He was not really okay but he is now and he is getting better."
