Mike, 44, is married to Princess Anne, The Princess Royal's daughter Zara, 41.

During his stint in the jungle, he opened up on some amusing revelations, including one incident when he split his trousers in front of his mother-in-law during a party.

But speaking on Good Morning Britain, he revealed what the extended family thought of his tenure in Australia.

After Susanna Reid reminded Mike of the trouser split story, he replied: "I don't think she was watching, but I think Zara might have told her.

"But I'm pretty sure it's etched into her memory bank for all the wrong reasons!"

Mike added: "I'll probably bashfully hide away from her when I get home."

Earlier in the programme, Susanna also reminded Mike that Princess Beatrice re-joined social media after a year to lavish praise on the former England sport legend for his time in I'm A Celebrity.

However, Mike thinks if the rest of the family did catch a glimpse of his appearance, they would have seen the funny side, although he is slightly concerned about potential repercussions over the holiday period.

When asked how many members were watching, he replied: "I don't right now but I'm sure I will find out at some point, Christmas is around the corner!

"Lets see if some interesting gifts come underneath that tree, there's some sense of humour kicking around in the family, so yeah, I'll wait for some interesting gifts and see how many people were watching!".

This comes as Royal Expert Jennie Bond revealed to The Sun Online that Princess Anne would have actually enjoyed Mike's antics as she has a sense of humour.

The TV personality spilled: "I think the Princess Royal has a great sense of humour.

"I don't imagine she's watched every episode ... She wanted to be in the loop. So I'm sure she will have dipped in and out of the programme."

She added: "I just think she'd been quite amused by Mike, I don't think anything he's done would offend her or bother [her]."
