Strictly legend tipped to take over from David Walliams on BGT
A Strictly Come Dancing legend is tipped to take over from David Walliams as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.
The Sun revealed yesterday that David, 51, had sensationally stepped down from the show after 10 years.
Now bookies have revealed former Strictly professional Oti Mabuse is the top name to take his seat on the panel, next to Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.
William Hill Spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “With David Walliams’ departure from Britain’s Got Talent all but confirmed, the early indication is that Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse could be composing some steps to be named as a replacement judge.
“Mabuse is even-money to appear as a judge in 2023, making her the comfortable favourite to swap the ballroom for the judge’s panel in the 16th edition of the show."
According to odds, other names in the fame are Joel Dommett, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Olivia Attwood, following her short-lived I'm a Celebrity stint.
More on Britain's Got Talent
David's exit from Britain's Got Talent comes after he was forced to apologise for foul-mouthed comments about contestants.
He called one a “c***” three times and mocked another during breaks in filming.
David said in a statement earlier this month: “I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.
“These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.”
A source close to the funnyman said: “David has decided to bow out after a ten-year run. He wants to leave on a high after a wonderful time."
