Balamory’s PC Plum almost unrecognisable as he transforms into pantomime dame for latest project
HE rose to fame for his role as the iconic children's character PC Plum but now looks worlds away from his policeman days.
Andrew Agnew became a household name thanks to his appearances in the iconic CBeebies series Balamory set in his homeland of Scotland where he played the happy-go-lucky PC Plum.
The hit show ran from 2002 to 2005 and introduced Andrew into living rooms up and down the country thanks to it being a staple of children's television at the time.
His character patrolled the crime-free village of Balamory as he dreamed of becoming a detective one day.
However, these days it isn't a police uniform he is donning for his acting roles but that of an over-the-top dress as he takes on the role of a pantomime dame.
In a nod to the show that made him a household name, he will play Nurse Bella Moray in the Kilmarnock production of Snow White.

He has transformed into the character by wearing a bright red wig complete with neon blue eye shadow and a bright red lip.
His new look comes together with a set of Scottish bagpipes attached to his outfit creating a character a million miles away from his most famous role.
He is no stranger to the panto circuit, having played Muddles in festive pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in Sunderland since 2014.
He's also popped up in Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter Pan, and Cinderella.

In another bid to continue his appeal to younger audiences he has also gone on to direct kids TV programmes and had his own CBeebies live theatre show.
Earlier this year, Andrew appeared alongside his co-star Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie) on This Morning to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show where they admitted they would both be open to filming a new series.
It comes as his other co-star Kim Tserkezie, known for playing Penny Pocket, stunned fans earlier this week when she debuted her dramatic new look.
The 49-year-old Geordie star ran Balamory's local shop and cafe together with Suzie Sweet, who was played by Mary Riggans.
Kim recently shared her shock and delight at making the top 10 in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100.
It honours people who are pioneering while also celebrates success, inclusion and advocacy.
Tserkezie ranked seventh in the list and shared a photo from the event where she looked all grown up from her former shopkeeper self. .
