Hollyoaks’ Emmett J Scanlan announces new baby with former actress wife Claire Cooper
HOLLYOAKS star EMMETT J Scanlan has become a dad for the third time following the birth of his baby daughter.
The Irish actor welcomed his second child with wife Claire Cooper, with whom he shares two-year-old son Ocean-Torin.
Peaky Blinders star Emmett, 43, also has a 20-year-old daughter Kayla from a previous relationship.
He broke the baby news on his Instagram account, first sharing a gender reveal video that showed they were having a girl.
And in a follow up post, he shared an image of his hand holding the hand of their new arrival, who was born on Saturday.
He wrote: “Three days ago we met her…. #ScanClan.”

Fans and friends flocked to his comment section delighted by the news.
His former on-screen sister Bronagh Waugh wrote under his post: “HUGE congratulations!!!! Big BIG love to you & ”
Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldsley also sent good wishes: “Oh loves!!!! How glorious!!! Huge congratulations. Sending so much love xxxx”
The couple met when they both worked on Hollyoaks, with Claire, 42, playing the part of Jacqui McQueen and Emmett playing businessman Brendan Brady.
They married in 2015 and their son Ocean-Torin arrived in July 2020.
However, the couple had a heartbreaking miscarriage the year before Ocean arrived, with Emmett later revealing: “July of last year we lost our baby and in the process my wife was left fighting for her life.
“Exactly 12 months later and after 40 hours of labour with an emergency C-section Ocean-Torin was born.
“The trauma her body and mind went through in that year is beyond anything I can possibly comprehend. Helpless, all I could do was hold her hand. And once again, I fell in love just a little bit more.”
