Viewers watched as the three finalists Syabira, Abdul and Sandro battled it out for one last time in the big tent.

Ultimately it was Syabira who came out on top as judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith decided she was the better baker.

The 32-year-old was left shocked when she learned she was this year's winner.

But viewers were more distracted by presenter Noel Fielding's appearance and voiced their concern for the star.

During the episode they watched as his co-host Matt Lucas informed the three finalists that Noel was unwell and would not be joining them for the first two challenges.

He said: "Good morning bakers, congratulations, this is the final so I wish you all lots of luck.

"Now unfortunately 'Noelipops' isn't feeling very well so he's not here today.

"Hopefully he'll be feeling better later on and will join us."

Thankfully Noel was back for the second day of filming, when the final showstopper challenge took place.

He returned to the tent for the last 20 minutes of the final show having missed out on the signature and technical bake challenges.

While Noel appeared to be in good spirits, fans said he looked 'unwell'.

Taking to social media, one viewer said: "Noel looks so unwell during this last challenge #GBBO."

"Noel looks very pale and unwell," said another concerned fan.

A third said: "I know Noel is pale anyway but Christ on a bike #GBBO."

Meanwhile a fourth viewer posted: "I'm really surprised that they didn't just reshoot the intros and time calls from the first day with Noel to pretend he was there."

The Great British Bake Off can be streamed on All 4.
