TEARFUL Shirley Ballas comforted a crying Will Mellor on Strictly Come Dancing last night after the actor dedicated his waltz to his late dad.
Hollyoaks star Will and pro dancer Nancy Xu danced to Three Times A Lady by Commodores, a song his late father Bill would sing to his mum.
Bill tragically died in April 2020 in the first lockdown after being diagnosed with cancer just two weeks earlier.
Before taking to the dancefloor Will was shown in training and later in a video call with his mother, saying he wanted to use the dance to “pay my respects to my dad”.
After performing a beautiful Waltz, which earned 38 points from the judges, the actor was shaking with emotion, and unable to speak.
He became tearful and also left judge Motsi Mabuse speechless.

Head judge Shirley stepped in and her voice also cracked as she told Will: "Well dancing is one thing, but after watcing the beautiful relationship you have with your mum, it makes me miss my own son.
"Your dancing, your feeling, the footwork, it was fantastic."
Judge Anton Du Deke described his footwork as "immaculate" and praised how the pair had moved together as a couple.
Afterwards, Will wiped away a tear and admitted he still was unable to speak.

Taking over for him, his pro partner Xu also became tearful as she said: "We wanted to dedicate this dance to anyone who has lost loved ones and didn't get to say goodbye."
Strictly viewers were left reaching for the tissues, and hit out at ITV over Matt Hancock, the former health secretary who broke his own Covid guidelines, who is appearing on I’m a Celebrity.
“Will has made me cry buckets,” tweeted one fan.
“Will Mellor crying on #bbc #strictly about losing his dad during covid and his dance partner Nancy saying it’s for people who didn’t get to say good bye to their loved ones while Matt Hancock is about to be on the other side justifying himself,” one more said on Twitter.

A third wrote: “After watching Will Mellor dance that Waltz dedicated to his father passing away during the Covid pandemic really makes watching Matt Hancock asking for forgiveness while trying to shill a book changing the narrative on his role in it all stick in my craw all the more #Strictly.”
A fourth wrote: “Will and Nancy’s dance on #Strictly and the message is such a harsh contrast with Matt Hancock’s pathetic performance on #ImACeleb. Just highlights the absurdity really doesn’t it?”
