JUNGLE DRAMA

I’m gutted to see Olivia Attwood leave I’m A Celeb, but Matt Hancock is disgusting for doing show, says Nicola McLean

I'M A CELEB star Nicola McLean has given her verdict on this year's contestants and said she was "gutted" to see good pal Olivia Attwood leave the jungle.

The former glamour model, 41, who starred in the 2008 series, said she was rooting for the Love Island star, 31, to win before she was forced to quit jungle life after 24 hours on medical grounds.

The TV personality said she is now backing music legend Boy George and best friend Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace's godfather to be crowned King of the Jungle this year.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the Pink Ribbon Foundation Gala, Nicola said: "I'm gutted about Olivia [Attwood], we're friends in the industry and we definitely support each other, and I'd say we're relatively similar.

"I was rooting for her for her to win, so I'm devastated about that."

"Boy George is my best friend Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace's godfather.

"I think he's brilliant, I think he's absolutely amazing, so he's my favourite to win at the minute.

"I think he's done really well; I love the no bull**** stuff, I hate the new PC s*** we have to conform to.

"He's not been rude, he's not been passive aggressive, he's directly said how he feels.

"I think we've lost our drama in reality TV, so I think Boy George is our biggest person to say stuff."

"I like Owen Warner too, but we'll have to wait and see. Olivia was my main person to win."

Nicola - who looked sensational in a blue glitzy dress at the cancer charity event - also gave her opinion on former Health Secretary Matt Hancock's appearance on the show.

MP Matt, 44, shocked the nation when he arrived in the I'm A Celebrity camp on Tuesday - joining ten other celebrities Down Under.

The former Health Secretary was seen for the first time on the ITV show earlier this week, before tackling his first Bushtucker trial in the Australian jungle last night.

Nicola has slammed the MP for entering the jungle, saying he "doesn't look after anyone else apart from himself".

"I think it's atrocious that Matt [Hancock] is on the show, while we were all socially distancing and he was having an affair, it's just shocking," she said.

"The fact that we lost so much of our lives to what he said we had to abide by the fact that he's cheated on his wife, it's just not for me.

"He doesn't look after anyone else apart from himself, does he."

Nicola made the most of her time on the ITV jungle show and has advised the celebrities to do the same.

"Enjoy it, you will never have an opportunity like the jungle, it's the biggest show on TV," the model said.

It comes after fans of the ITV show were all left complaining after Matt was seen on screen for the first time.

The MP had claimed his reason for taking part in the show was to raise awareness, but he seemed to forget all about it as he was quizzed by his new campmates.

Those watching at home were unimpressed by his failure to mention it and took to Twitter to moan about it.

One person wrote: "Hancock was asked twice in tonight’s show why he entered the jungle, funnily enough he didn’t use it as a chance to 'raise awareness of dyslexia on a platform that will reach people'."

A second added: "Matt was asked, on at least four different occasions during tonight’s episode, why he entered I’m A Celebrity. Not once did he mention dyslexia. It’s all a money-making vanity project."

While a third put: "I thought Matt Hancock said he was going into the jungle to raise awareness for dyslexia charities? No mention…"

Matt’s highly anticipated arrival in the jungle was met with a mixture of shock, incredulity and uncontrollable laughter from the celebs.

The former health secretary finally joined the cast of the ITV reality show this week, after facing much criticism over his decision from the public and fellow politicians.

Shortly after arriving he took part in the Beastly Burrows Bushtucker Trial challenge alongside fellow late entry, comedian Seann Walsh - and was later selected by the public to face a second trial on Thursday.

Nicola attended the Pink Ribbon Gala to support the charity helping women and a smaller percentage of men who are diagnosed with breast cancer.
