University Challenge and Only Connect fans livid after ‘outrageous’ BBC schedule shake-up
UNIVERSITY Challenge and Only Connect fans are livid after an 'outrageous' BBC schedule shake-up.
The popular quiz shows usually air on a Monday, as part of 'Quizzy Mondays' on BBC Two.
However, the shows have been moved to a Tuesday due to the Rugby World Cup, and fans are raging.
After noticing the schedule shake up, one wrote: "Yet again, the BBC reschedule their intellectual blockbusters, #OnlyConnect and #UniversityChallenge, in favour of this ludicrous rugby tournament that is probably attracting an audience of just over three. It's #Outbloodyrageous!"
Another tweeted: "So #onlyconnect and #UniversityChallenge have been on Tuesday for the last couple of weeks.!? I assumed they were just taking a break… couldn't rugby have been scheduled on Tuesdays, surely TV quizzing is the better supported of these two competitive sports.!?!"
A third added: "What? No #UniversityChallenge or #OnlyConnect again. It’s the best thing about Mondays."

A fellow quiz fan shared a gif of someone throwing their TV out the window in a rage and wrote: "No quizzy Mondays. Yet again. Dear BBC…#onlyconnect #UniversityChallenge."
Meanwhile Bobby Seagull, who took part in University Challenge in 2017 and has gone on to become a popular face on TV, wrote: "Another #QuizzyMonday disrupted. Rugby League World cup means #Mastermind, #OnlyConnect and #UniversityChallenge are all Tuesday night this week and I think, next week too.
"Just for clarification, the @OnlyConnectQuiz team "Seagulls" is not my family @VictoriaCoren."
The schedule change will see Mastermind air tonight, Tuesday November 8 at 7.30pm.
It will be followed by Only Connect at 8pm and University Challenge at 8.30pm.
The Rugby World Cup was originally supposed to take place in 2021 but was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
