Who is Martine Croxall?

Martine Croxall is best known for being a journalist and news presenter.

She is one of the main presenters on BBC News.

Martine was born on 23 February 1969 and grew up in Leicestershire.

She attended the independent Bablake School in Coventry before she went on to study Geography at the University of Leeds, gaining her BA in 1990.

Since then she has presented multiple BBC programmes.

Martine was taken off air and investigated for impartiality on 24 October 2022 after an incident on-air the previous evening that drew complaints she had displayed personal bias.

What TV shows has she been in?

Martine began her journalism career in 1991 when she did work experience at BBC Leicester.

She followed this working at East Midlands Today, the BBC news programme for the region.

She has also worked at Newsroom South East and UK Today.

Martine is a regular news presenter on BBC News between 18:30 and midnight, alternate Thursdays, Friday–Sunday.

She occasionally hosts Afternoon Live on BBC News and has presented on both BBC World News and World News Today.

Since 2017 Croxall has presented the lunchtime edition of BBC Weekend News.

On 21 May 2021, Croxall presented Dateline London for the first time.

In March 2022, Martine won an episode of Celebrity Mastermind, with her specialist subject being American investigative journalist Nellie Bly.

Croxall was the BBC's main presenter during the November 2015 Paris attacks.

She was also presenting BBC News on 9 April 2021, when the news broke of the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Is Martine married and does she have children?

Martine is married to her husband Stephen Morris.

The couple tied the knot in 2000 and have two children together.

Their son was born in March 2002 who was followed by a daughter in June 2004.

It's thought the family live together in St Albans but Martine tends to keep her personal life private.
