Sharing a picture from her car as she tried to get through a flooded road along with a number of other vehicles, she said: "The joys of country life.

"Started the day in the dark with a spade digging culverts for road surface run-off, before clearing blocked drains of leaves, mopping the kitchen of flood water, rescuing the stuff in the bottom cupboards & this is the current state of my commute."

Victoria received a number of replies from her followers, with one writing: "Sounds like loads of roads round here flooded, pictures and videos on all local FB sites. The joys of living in this beautiful area."

Another tweeted: "Otherwise everything alright stay safe Victoria and take care."

Victoria's post comes a week after she baffled BBC Breakfast viewers with her sudden name change.

Victoria had stepped in for Sally Nugent at the beginning of last week and was introduced as Victoria Fritz.

But on Wednesday's show, she revealed her name was Victoria Valentine.
