Emmerdale fans slam soap for forgetting about storm victim Harriet Finch

EMMERDALE has been slammed by fans for appearing to forget about storm victim Harriet Finch.

The police woman - who was played by actress Katherine Dow Blyton in the ITV soap - was a mainstay in the village for nine years.

And despite her being one of the most high-profile characters in the show, she has barely been mentioned since her death.

Fans are particularly furious that there has been little immediate aftermath to her death.

She was killed by an explosion after being crushed by her quad bike while searching for missing pregnant teenager Amelia Spencer.

She became the first victim of storm - but has yet to have her funeral.

In comparison Liv Flaherty, who died after Harriet, had a full village funeral jointly with Faith Dingle.

And while multiple characters have been shown mourning for Liv and Faith, the reaction to Harriet’s death has been much more muted.

It has led to fans accusing the soap of forgetting Harriet and being disrespectful to actress Katherine.

One wrote: “I feel this has been done really poorly. She was in the programme for 10 years and no one has even noticed she has left. I liked her as well.”

A second said: "I feel sad for the actress as well, it seems quite disrespectful.”

Another added: “Harriet was written into a corner several years ago. I get the feeling they decided to use this week as an opportunity to give Kim some drama and Harriet, a difficult character for them paid the price.

“Katherine Dow Blyton did deserve better, but then, she always did.”
