We were kicked out of a hotel because of my husband’s appearance reveals Unbreakable’s Simon Weston’s wife
UNBREAKABLE'S Simon Weston was kicked out of a hotel because of his appearance, his wife has revealed.
The British Army veteran was left with severe burns after the Sir Galahad ship was bombed during the Falklands War in 1982.
The bombing killed 22 men out of the 30 in Simon's platoon, while he was left with 46 per cent burns and his face was severely disfigured.
The 61-year-old is appearing on the BBC One show with his wife of 32 years, Lisa, and in Thursday's episode, the couple opened up about their life together and the battles they have faced.
During one therapy session, Lucy said one of the hardest things was having to deal with Simon's PTSD when he returned home.
She started to cry as she said: "being there dealing with him suffering and having nightmares and having to deal with people just being so horrible."

She then recalled a moment which horrified her fellow contestants and the relationship expert.
She said: "It was just before we got married, when we went on holiday, we got asked to leave the hotel because we were upsetting the other guests."
As she tried to dry her tears with a tissue, she continued: "To see someone who you love, who's trying to deal with their disfigurement to be treated that way by people, it's just awful.
"You just see someone who's trying to get on with who they are, cos they're a new person themselves after being injured to suddenly go back into their shell."

Thankfully, the couple were able to pull together and get through the dark times.
She said: "We dealt with it, we moved on. You know his depression then is not…he doesn't have that now, he's happy with who he is. He's happy in his own skin."
However, viewers at home were just as upset that the couple had faced such a despicable service at the unnamed hotel all those years ago.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "That a hotel would ask Simon Weston & his wife to leave because they said his disfigurement was upsetting customers is beyond belief. What cruelty, how inhumane. Simon is an amazing man."
Another tweeted: "Finding out that Simon Weston got asked to leave a hotel because of his disfigurement “scaring the guests” after fighting in the Falklands is the most disgusting thing I’ve heard! I hope the person who said it is ashamed for the rest of their life!"

A third added: "They should name and shame that hotel. What a sad story. So glad they’ve made it tho they’re great together."
A fellow viewer agreed, writing: "#Unbreakable JESUS WHAT?! They were kicked out of a hotel for “upsetting” the other guests!!??? NAME THAT HOTEL SO NO ONE EVER GOES THERE AGAIN."
