Hollywood heartthrob looks unrecognisable after dramatic body transformation for new movie

HOLLYWOOD stars are no strangers to having a body transformation in the name of a good role – but we had to do a double take with this latest star's efforts.

A barely recognisable Zac Efron was spotted on set in Louisiana, walking around in just a blue towel and a pair of sliders.

Zac is transforming into legendary wrestler Kevin Von Erich in upcoming film The Iron Claw, and has definitely been working hard in order to beef up his muscles to look the spitting image of his real-life counterpart.

Looking a million miles away from the floppy-haired teen heartthrob we met in his High School Musical days, Zac is fully back in business after briefly walking away from the screen in favour of documentary filmmaking.

In 2013, Zac had to get emergency surgery after a fall at his own home resulted in his jaw being wired shut. As a result some have speculated he may have had facial surgery, something he has brushed off in interviews.

“My mom told me. I never really read the internet, so, I don’t really care,” he told Entertainment Tonight about the accusations.

“It was funny," he added. "It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.”

After the success of 2021's The Greatest Beer Run Ever, he will now be taking on a hard-hitting drama about life in the wrestling industry.

The Iron Claw will track the tragic history of the Von Erich family dynasty, and how they've shaped modern day wrestling from the work they started in the 1960s.

Kevin was the only surviving member of the six sons born to Fritz Von Erich, a highly influential wrestler and wrestling promotor.

He'll be joined on screen by Jeremy Allen White, Maura Tierney, Lily James and Harris Dickenson.

Zac is next slated to film the remake of 90s romcom classic, Three Men and A Baby, and will also return for a series of 'Killing Zac Efron', where he heads off on adventures and doing dangerous stunts.
