What if Paddy and Mandy Dingle could find comfort in one another?

Fans of the Yorkshire-based drama are certainly hoping to see the former couple patch things up as Chas' affair storyline continues.

This comes after the Woolpack manager played by Lucy Pargeter told her lover Al Chapman (portrayed by Michael Wildman) that she hated herself for lying to her grieving son Aaron (Danny Miller).

Meanwhile, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) has tried to figure out what led to Chas and Aaron's vicious fall out.

But as he did so, a sweet scene with Mandy (Lisa Riley) prompted viewers to share their thoughts about the failed marriage on social media.

"Yep, Paddy and Mandy will definitely get back together", one Tweeted as another gushed: "Loving Paddy and Mandy getting close again... get them back together, Chas was never right for him!"

A third viewer commented: "I wish Paddy and Mandy would get back together."

"Paddy & Mandy need to he reunited", asserted another.

Before tying the knot with Chas or even Rhona Goskirk, Paddy was married to Mandy in 1999.

Paddy sent Mandy packing after finding out she had cheated on him - could he do the same with Chas?

Many viewers believe it's only a matter of time before Paddy hears of Chas and Al's affair.

The illicit couple were already caught a first time by Belle Dingle but managed to make her believe they had called it quits.

However, Aaron Dingle was harder to convince, particularly as he caught them together twice.

During last night's trip to the eponymous village, Chas was ready for anything to keep her affair under wraps and resorted to emotional manipulation when her son confronted her.

This has left fans almost hoping she gets caught out as they fail to empathise with her due to her behaviour.

Aaron decided to leave the village once again despite wanting to help Vinny Dingle cope with Liv Flaherty's death.

But does this mean Chas' secret will never come to light?
