Coronation Street’s Evelyn star breaks silence on when she’ll return to ITV soap
EVELYN Plummer hasn't been seen in the cobbles for almost a month after going through a tough day at work.
During a chat with The Sun, Coronation Street actress Maureen Lipman spoke of when she could be expected back on screens.
The outspoken Weatherfield resident got caught at her own gam when she wrongly accused the manager of a local charity shop of theft.
Evelyn and Roy Cropper had set out on a quest to find the late Hayley Cropper's famous red anorak, which was boxed up and sent away by mistake by Nina Lucas and Bernie Winter.
Once at the shop, Evelyn made an enemy out of the manager, Joy.
As a result, Evelyn was forced to amend her behaviour by working in the shop with Joy as a new volunteer.

She then attended her first shift but the pressure became too overwhelming for her to handle.
Evelyn spontaneously packed a bag and left with her dog Cerberus, bumping into Asha Alahan while on her way to the tram station.
It was then that she announced she'll be staying with a friend, "the friend that lives farthest away."
Should viewers expect to hear from Evelyn again?

On Monday, October 17, 2022, while attending the Inside Soap Awards, Dame Maureen Lipman hinted she would come back to the cobbles.
This can only be confirmed by the recent renewal of the 76-year-old's Corrie contract.
However, she also admitted she couldn't give away a precise date for her return.
"I've only just finished my one woman show", she told The Sun.
"I don't know when I'll be back on screen, I'm just gradually easing back."

While Evelyn took a much-needed break from life in Weatherfield, Maureen announced she'd star in a one-woman stage play titled Rose.
She has been expected to be away from the screens for a couple of months.
But what sort of mischief will her alter ego be up to once she finally puts an end to her break?
Tyrone Dobbs' grandmother has become a fan favourite since her first appearance in the Manchester-based program in 2018.
This is mostly due to her no-nonsense attitude, which is even praised by the actress who portrays her.
"The thing about Evelyn is she speaks up, most people spend their whole lives not speaking up," Maureen added during the Inside Soap Awards.
