Les Dennis looks almost unrecognisable as he appears in new series of BBC One’s Death In Paradise
LES Dennis has slipped right into character for his new role in Death In Paradise - and he is almost unrecognisable.
The telly star, 69, is joining the popular BBC One show for the new series and fans are thrilled with the news.
In a new cast shot, Les' usual grey hair has been ditched for darker locks and he is sporting a very bronzed tan.
His character is also wearing a light blue blazer and black T-shirt in the official Death In Paradise photograph.
The exact details about who Les plays is being kept tightly under wraps but the BBC has confirmed he is among series 12's guest cast members.
Sharing snaps of Les, alongside Holby City's Jo Martin, Derry Girls' Siobhán McSweeney and Black Sails' Hakeem Kae-kazim, show bosses wrote on Instagram: "It's time to announce our wonderful #DeathInParadise series 12 guest cast! Drum roll please!"

Commenting on the post, one fan wrote: "LES DENNIS WHOOOOOOOO!"
Another added: "Best news today."
Making reference to Les' 15-year reign hosting game show Family Fortunes, someone else joked: "When I saw @lesdennis first thought #OurSurveySays."
However, several fans found themselves doing a double take after confusing Les with an iconic an EastEnders character played by Bill Treacher.

Filming for series 12 has already wrapped but a start date is yet to be confirmed.
The BBC has, however, announced there will be an exciting Christmas special this year.
