Emmerdale star teases epic live episode as she reveals behind-the-scenes secrets from 50th anniversary special
AN Emmerdale icon has called for the return of the live episode in a bid to maximise the soap to its full potential during the legendary 50th birthday week.
Daisy Campbell plays Amelia Spencer in the ITV soap and is an integral part of the current birthday celebration as she has fallen into difficulty while out in the terrifying wind storm.
Viewers have seen Amelia battle against the conditions she has been faced with and she now appears to have gone into labour whilst hiding out in a rickety old barn, just outside of the village but none of the other residents are exactly sure as to her whereabouts.
As the villagers desperately begin to search for Amelia, with possible deathly consequences, actress Daisy has opened up about filming the scenes and the importance of playing such a huge part as one of the leading stars of the 50th anniversary week,
Daisy said: "It's meant to have been just over the hill of the village. It's meant to be like a five-minute walk from the village because she only gets to a certain point before she goes into labour.
"I felt like we were filming a film, it's my best filming days I've ever done. It didn't feel like Emmerdale.”

She added: "They had these sticks screwed into the door and the prop men had to rattle the door, and obviously a lot of the wind did that because we had three massive wind machines outside and we had one inside, and they had to rattle it. It all felt really intense.”
Recalling being a part of the 40th anniversary celebrations 10 years ago and being involved in the live episode, Daisy has fond memories and has called on ITV to create another live episode of the hit show.
The actress said: "It was amazing. I can't remember much because I think I was only about eight, it was when I first came into it but it was insane.
"I think I loved it cos it felt like we were doing a show, we had months and months of rehearsals, and it felt like you were just rehearsing for a show.
"Then when it actually came to doing the live it was amazing. I’d definitely do it again."
It remains to be seen what the fate of Amelia and her unborn child is during the deadly storm, however bosses did reveal that a baby would be born during the 50th week so it looks likely that Amelia will be the character to follow through with these plans.
Will Amelia be found in time?
Emmerdale continues all week at 7:30pm on ITV.
