GOOD Morning Britain viewers have today slammed Richard Madeley's interview with Sir Christopher Chope after the host grilled the Tory MP over Liz Truss.
Tensions flared when the presenter shut down the Tory MP and he was accused of being "rude" by speaking over him.
Sir Christopher argued with Richard and accused him of having a "deep prejudice" against Truss.
He said: "It's a bit early in the morning to engage in insults, but I must say the very nature of your comment shows your deep held prejudice against Ms Truss and the new Conservative government, and I'm very sorry about that."
"You're joking, you're joking. I have no prejudice against Liz Truss", Richard fumed.
Richard then told the MP he didn't need to defend himself on air.
GMB viewers took to Twitter to react to the frosty exchange with one writing: "Sir Christopher Chope, absolute car crash of an interview."

Another said of Richard: "So Madeley says he just ignores his critics! Such a pity. This programme might be watchable if he didn’t and left his anchor spot to someone not quite so cringeworthy! Anyway, the news review segment is over now so I’m off back to Sky News!"
Others were unhappy Sir Christopher was invited onto the show in the first place.
One moaned: "What an embarrassing interview, Chope completely out of touch. Please just go away!"

GMB faced criticism last week when Martin Lewis sparked a row with a pregnant woman over the cost of heating a jacket potato.
The Money Saving Expert appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss how people can save on their energy bills and interviewed author and journalist Ella Whelan.
Whelan argued an axed government publicity scheme, which included a £15million ad blitz, amounted to telling Brits how to "live a miserable existence".
However, Martin replied: "Hold on, to poopoo every single idea, you are actually encouraging people to have a more miserable existence...Let me ask you a question Ella. What's the price of cooking a potato in the microwave or the oven? What is it?"

Ella admitted, "I don't know" as Martin continued to ask her, as she revealed she was pregnant and worried about keeping her baby warm.
One viewer said: "Martin Lewis doesn’t like being disagreed with does he! Ranting about a jacket potato".
