EMMERDALE fans are in shock after two characters were left for dead in the explosive 50th anniversary special episode.
The ITV soap celebrated its half century with a special hour-long episode tonight as a storm ripped through the village.
And it looks to have killed two beloved characters with Kim Tate and Harriet Finch caught up in a horror explosion in the woods.
Earlier after spotting Harriet staring at her in the village, Kim text her from Will’s phone to arrange a meeting and turned up herself.
Harriet dared Kim to kill her, but the millionaire didn’t take the bait.
And instead she told Harriet that she was going to marry Will no matter what she had planned.

As Harriet grabbed her by the throat, Kim told her: “Do your worst, but he still won’t love you.”
Harriet broke down and later apologised to Kim in the village as she rode in on her horse to the church.
And as Kim walked into the church, she was overcome with emotion.
After a brief interruption, Kim and Will tied the knot but afterwards the happy occasion was marred with the news that Amelia Spencer had gone missing.

The heavily pregnant teenager had gone to meet Noah for a picnic at Wylie’s farm but was blown off her feet by the incoming storm - and ended up going into early labour.
She managed to get a message to her dad and Harriet, Sam and Lydia all set off to find her.
Lydia told Kim and she saddled up her horse to head out to find the terrified teenager.
With Harriet on a quad bike and Kim on her horse, they covered the woods and hills around the village.
However the storm caused chaos as a falling tree sent Harriet crashing off the quad bike into a ditch.
And then the wind blew the quad bike over and sent it crashing down on top of her.
Kim found her close to death but was determined to rescue her love rival.
Dragging Harriet away from the quad bike, she tried to keep her alive.
Harriet begged her not to leave her but Kim knew she had to get help if she was going to save Harriet’s life.

However as she ignored Harriet’s pleas to stay with her, Kim was blown off her feet when a lightning strike caused the quad bike to explode.
She was thrown across the woods and hit her head on a rock with both women laying lifeless at the end of the explosive episode.
Emmerdale fans are in shock at the seeming death of both characters.
One wrote: "Kim better not die! But knowing that show she will they like to kill off the iconic characters and keep the deadwood."
