Looking slimmer than ever, Alison wore the sequinned frock, which featured bat wing sleeves.

Her hair was styled in a long ponytail and she completed her look with glam make-up.

Back in January, Alison and Dermot O'Leary replaced Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning's Friday shows - and there was uproar.

But Alison won over the public in no time and got the prestigious nod for tonight’s awards.

Speaking about the nom, Alison previously said: "I was called into the This Morning editor's office and actually thought I was in trouble!

"Martin [Frizzell, the editor] was there and he said: 'Alison, you've made the shortlist' and I was like: 'Oh my God!' I was beside myself and so happy. I just couldn't believe it."

Alison will of course have to beat Ant and Dec, who have won this category an incredible 19 years in a row.

And she also goes up again Holly Willoughby, but there is no competition.

"Holly Willoughby sent me a lovely voice note saying: 'I'll totally vote for you,'" revealed Alison.

"And I was like: 'Holly, I'm going to vote for you!' I wanted Holly to win last year, but we knew Ant and Dec would. For me, Holly did win and I've won just by being nominated."

Alison has gone into the history books - by becoming thefirst black presenter to make the TV Presenter shortlist since the NTAs were launched back in 1995.

"It's wonderful and about time," she said. "People who watch me on the TV have actually voted for little old me. I want to say thank you to everyone. It means the world.

"I don't know why they have! Maybe people see a little bit of themselves in me? I just tell it how it is, I don't try to pretend to be perfect because I am genuinely not perfect. No one is. I always make mistakes and own them, and I have fun? I bring the LOLs and the vibes to TV. People get that respite sometimes when they see me."
