EastEnders news LIVE: Fans in tears as Lola comes clean after shock diagnosis; plus Corrie & Emmerdale spoilers
EASTENDERS fans were left in tears after Lola Pearce made the difficult decision to come clean about her shock diagnosis this week.
In last night's episode of the BBC soap, mainstay Lola (played by Danielle Harold) learnt that she has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer that may not be curable.
Despite doctors orders to stay in hospital until her operation, Lola decided to head home where she made the difficult decision to come clean to her family after another dizzy spell. She gathered Billy, Honey and Ben Mitchell to reveal the truth about her diagnosis.
Fans were left in tears with one saying: "This storyline that is doing with Lola is going to be so heartbreaking," while a second added: "Honestly never cried so much when watching something but this got me."
Danielle's on-screen alter ego is set to be killed off at the end of a gut-wrenching storyline.

Fans predict EastEnders wedding for Jay and Lola
Lola is diagnosed with a brain tumour, and fans think this will trigger a shotgun wedding.
EastEnders viewers are distraught that Lola will be leaving the show soon and discussed it on Twitter.

Emmerdale is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and legendary icons Frazer Hines and Jean Rogers have finally reunited.
They travelled up to Yorkshire to commemorate the show’s outstanding milestone.
Joining the soap when it was originally called Emmerdale Farm, Frazer and Jean both played Joe Sugden and Dolly Skillbeck respectively.

However, Corrie actress Maureen Lipman has revealed when she will appear on the soap again.

Hollyoaks: Will Verity find out the truth about Eric?
Eric is at the centre of a radical misogyny storyline.
The actress behind Verity talked about what may be in store.
Eva O'Hara spoke to Digital spy saying: "There's so much coming up for Verity. She's had a really physically active year, which I've really enjoyed!
"It's just getting more and more mega. We've got a very female-led episode coming out, which is called the Long Walk Home episode.
She continued: "There's also a ton coming up for Verity with her brother Eric. She's exposed to certain truths that she can't shy away from anymore.
It's that whole 'you can't choose your family' type of thing. There's that really inherent need to support the ones you've grown up with and you share blood with, but it's a tricky one.
"I think it's really been pushed now – and there's certain things coming up that Verity can't shy away from."

Former EastEnders actress tragically dies backstage
The actress played Tessa Parker, the girlfriend of Kelvin Carpenter, in 1986.
Josephine Parker was performing on stage at the Nottingham Playhouse in a production of Nine Night and was met with difficulty backstage.
Though treated by paramedics, Melville died at the scene. Celebrities including Adjoa Andoh and Denise Welch have expressed their sadness and condolences.
The playhouse issued a statement: "We are deeply saddened to announce that last night the actor Josephine Melville, passed away backstage at Nottingham Playhouse following the performance of the play Nine Night, in which she was performing.
"Josephine's family have been informed, and our thoughts and deep condolences are with them.
"Josephine received immediate assistance from Nottingham Playhouse first aiders and a medically qualified member of the Nine Night audience. The subsequent very swift arrival of paramedics meant she was quickly and expertly treated but sadly she passed away at the scene."
