Coronation Street spoilers: Bernie Winter in grave danger as she’s betrayed
THE plan begins to crumble for Bernie Winter on Coronation Street this week.
She has been earning extra money on the side by impersonating her lookalike Fern (Gabrielle Glaister) as part of a mutually beneficial deal but things don’t go according to plan in upcoming scenes of the ITV soap opera, leaving Bernie vulnerable.
Bernie, played by Jane Hazelgrove, convinces Fern to attend a high-end cleaning job interview convinced that the bosses will hire Fern impersonating as Bernie.
In full guise of Bernie, Fern sails through the interview and is offered the job there and then and Fern is sent straight to work at a top jewellers.
Assuming Fern to be Bernie, the owners leave her to lock up the shop once she is finished.
Soon, Fern comes up with a plan that will leave Bernie well and truly stitched up.

Fern heads back to the jewellers dressed as Bernie and soon the boss, Walter, informs her that he is heading out for his lunch.
Dressed top to toe in Bernie’s clothes, Fern robs the shop blind.
Fern then exits the back of the shop, strips of Bernie’s clothes and runs off with the jewels in hand.
Back on the street, Bernie and Dev are heading home to No.5 where they find a police officer wanting to question Bernie.
The officer tells Bernie that she’s arresting her on suspicion of theft.
A dumbfounded Bernie arrives at the police station, the officer shows Bernie the CCTV footage of her robbing the jewellers.
The penny drops and Bernie realises with horror that she’s been framed by Fern.
Bernie maintains her innocence and pleads with the Police that it is one big misunderstanding and that it was actually Fern in the jewellers.
She explains to the officer how Fern took a cleaning job in her name, stole her clothes and then robbed the jewellers.

Bernie then has the matter of trying to convince Dev and her family of the crazy but true tale.
The officer later informs Bernie that the number she provided for Fern is invalid and it soon starts to dawn on her that Fern has disappeared without trace.
Bernie is then released pending further enquiries.
