Big Brother legend backs Alison Hammond for presenting job as it’s revealed Vick Hope & Emily Atack are in the running

A BIG Brother legend has backed former contestant Alison Hammond for the presenting job as the show returns to screens.
It has been revealed that radio presenter Vick Hope and comedian Emily Atack are already in the running for the new role.
However, legendary Big Brother star Kate Lawler has thrown her weight behind the campaign to get Alison, 47, in front of the camera.
TV personality Kate, 42, who took part in the 2002 series alongside the This Morning host, joked they could host the show together.
It comes as the iconic show is set to make a return after a five-year hiatus - with a launch incoming in spring 2023 on ITV2.
Speaking to the , Kate said of who she'd like to see host: "I mean Rylan is great and he is just Big Brother through and through.

"But also maybe Alison Hammond would be a good shout? Alison would be hilarious. Maybe even me and Alison co-hosting.
"That would be really great. Alison hosts, I'll do 'Bit On The Side'."
Earlier this year, Alison big to host Big Brother's revived series - saying she thought she would "be good at" presenting the show.
Alison rose to fame on Big Brother back in 2002, alongside Jade Goody - and the show is set to return next spring.

The star told The Late-ish Show with Mo Gilligan that she would love to take up the hosting role when it does return.
Asked if she thought she would be good at presenting the show, she replied: "I think so. They need to change it up a bit.
“We’ve got to put it out there to the universe. Let’s make it happen!”
Elsewhere, it was revealed that Emily Atack and DJ Vick Hope are the frontrunners to host as they battle it out for the position.
Others in the mix for the role starting next year include Roman Kemp, 29, son of Spandau Ballet star Martin, and Big Brother’s original presenter Davina McCall, 54.
A source said: “Emily and Vick have emerged as the favourites. A huge list was drawn up with a number of big-name stars on it, including Davina.
“However there is a feeling bringing in a fresh face would be good for the reboot. Emily is already part of the ITV2 family with her work on Celebrity Juice.
“Vick is a great interviewer and would bring a younger audience to Big Brother thanks to her job on Radio 1. Roman has also had talks and has made the shortlist.

“Rylan Clark is another name in the mix but like Davina he has worked on Big Brother before.

“If the production team and ITV decide they want a totally fresh start then he won’t make the cut.
“The final decision won’t be made for a few more weeks and talks with the stars on the shortlist are ongoing.”
