Handsome Siva, 33, was officially announced on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain and will complete the line-up for the upcoming series.

He told how his fellow Glad You Came bandmate Tom, who died in March after a battle with brain cancer, was one of his inspirations for signing up.

GMB host Richard Madeley asked Siva how he was coping following Tom's passing, at the age of 33.

Siva said: "To be honest, I'm just living day by day.

"Sometimes it's very difficult. Mostly I look back and smile."

He added: "He taught me so much about life and not to be afraid - that's one of the reasons I am doing the show."

Opening up about Tom's positivity, he added: "He had a positive attitude for the future - that's one of the gifts he has given me, that he has given us all."

Earlier in the episode, Siva admitted he didn't know why he had signed up for Dancing On Ice, and joked he had asked his manager if he could change his mind.

He then admitted his only experience on an ice rink was skating with a toy penguin for support - and had never skated unsupported.

Yet he admitted bandmate Jay, who triumphed on Strictly, would be on-hand in the studio for support.

He added: "Jay has given me some words of encouragement which have been very invaluable.

"He will be my lucky charm."

Talking of Siva's spot on the show, a TV insider told us:  "Siva is a great signing for the show - The Wanted still have a huge loyal fanbase.

"After all the boys have been through this year with losing their bandmate Tom Parker, fans will be willing him to go all the way in Tom's memory.

"It's also going to be a very busy year for Siva next year, as he just wrapped filming on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which will air next autumn, so that's two big shows for 2023 under his belt."

Dublin-born Siva joins a host of stars who have already been announced for the ITV skating show, which airs in January.

He will be competing on the ice alongside Michelle HeatonCarly StensonDarren HarriottJoey EssexThe VivienneMollie GallagherNile WilsonEkin-Su CülcüloğluJohn Fashanu and Patsy Palmer.

The Sun previously revealed that Siva has also signed up for the Channel 4 endurance show - the gruelling series filming last week but will not air until next year, after Dancing on Ice.

He will be joined on SAS by the likes of MP Matt Hancock, Gareth Gates, Danielle Lloyd and Michelle Heaton, who like Siva is also doing Dancing On Ice.
