Emmerdale cow stampede to leave the village devastated, confirms soap boss
EMMERDALE boss teases devastation after a cow stampede in the village part of the ITV soap's 50th anniversary celebrations.
The ITV programme is celebrating its 50th birthday this October after first debuting as the rural favourite Emmerdale Farm in 1972.
The latest trailer for the month-long celebrations teases that not every character will make it through the devastating storm which is set to savage the village.
However, Emmerdale boss have also confirmed a cow stampede will also tear apart the Dales.
“You see a lot of debris and a lot of fallen trees,” ITV boss teased.
“The one area you won’t see destroyed is our allotment which was part of our environment initiative.
“We haven’t touched the allotment, the produce is still growing. And in future episodes you’ll see the shed’s maybe been destroyed but it’s all mock talk.
"The produce is safe and well and flourishing despite the storm. Not all the cast come out this flourishing, but they will have a flourishing exit.

“It’s really important to balance all our stories... it’s important to show those quiet moments. We’re probably more familiar with a loved one dying than a cow stampede chasing us."
The haunting new trailer transforms the Emmerdale village into a birthday cake which crumbles in reflection of the devastation set to hit the village.
The harrowing new trailer is set to the tune of Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat and features models of characters such as Kim Tate, Charity Dingle, Cain Dingle and Noah Dingle.
Fans will be on the edges of their seats as they wait to discover just how much of an impact the devastating storm will have on the residents.
