Coronation Street rocked by ANOTHER schedule shake-up as tonight’s episode pulled by ITV

CORONATION STREET fans have been hit with another change to the schedule as tonight's episode of the show has been sensationally axed by ITV.

The long-running ITV soap will not air tonight in its traditional Friday timeslot.

The schedule change is due to the international women's football, which is instead being broadcast tonight forcing the soap off the air.

An extra episode was broadcast earlier in the week to make up for the axing of tonight's edition.

This comes after Corrie boss Iain MacLeod teased drama ahead for Stephen.

The character recently has moved back onto the street from Italy.

He is seen lying and scamming residents on the street - including his family - until a suspicious Leo caught him out.

But things didn't end well for Leo as a fight led to him being pushed by Stephen and falling from a balcony into a giant skip bin causing his death.

Stephen tries to hide his murder by moving the body and hacking into his phone.

Will he get caught?

Speaking to , Iain said: "He will continue to get more and more desperate and more and more dark as the story unfolds.

"The beauty of his character really is that he's got this huge longevity in terms of his connection to the show and to a heritage family, but actually he is a bit of a blank canvas.

"If you think back through his archive scenes, we don't really know a lot about him.

"So we thought well, actually, if we're gonna fill in those blanks and we're gonna learn more about him shouldn't we make him dark, dangerous, interesting and scheming?

"Audrey obviously will be a large part of the story. She won't come to be in any physical Jeopardy, I should say.

"But emotionally, the stakes are incredibly high, because she's put all of her sort of maternal eggs in Stephens basket."
