GREAT British Bake Off fans branded last night's show "unfair" after two contestants were given a free pass to the next round.

It meant there was no elimination in the white tent, and the sick pair both live to bake another day.

Fans criticised the production decision, with one writing on Twitter: "So they miss a week but are allowed to continue? Bit unfair."

Another said: "I look forward to the day where they send TWO people home just for the DRAMA but it was absolutely unfair for Rebs and Abdul to get an auto-pass when they were so wobbly last week."

A third posted: "Rather unfair having two of them missing, what if they're crap at bread?"

Bake Off host Matt Lucas told contestants last night: "Both Rebs and Abdul are a bit under the weather this week, but with your permission, we thought we’d send them both straight through to the final."

Clarifying that his co-host's remarks were indeed a joke, fellow presenter Noel Fielding added: "Only joking, they’re going to miss a week and hopefully they’ll be back next week."

Masters student Rebs has become the unlikely star of the series - sparking romance rumours with co-star Sandro.

Meanwhile electronics engineer Abdul, 29, is keen to show off his precision baking in Biscuit Week.
