EastEnders’ James Bye reveals he and his wife have discussed the Strictly curse after ‘intense’ warning
EASTENDERS actor James Bye says he talked “in depth” with his wife before signing up for Strictly in fear of the so-called Curse.
The dad-of-three, who has played Martin Fowler on the BBC soap since 2012, took the advice of co-stars like 2021 winner Rose Ayling-Ellis and Davood Ghadami, who had already featured.
James, 38, who has been married since 2012, said: “Before I even thought about accepting the offer, we talked about it in depth.
“Because I know a lot of people have done the show. Their advice was, it’s intense.
“Make sure you’re prepared for how long you’re going to be away from the family.
“And then once we’d agreed as a family, then I said, Yeah, I’ll do it. Don’t look back. Straight in.”
