THIS Morning fans have launched a petition to axe Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after they 'jumped the queue' when they went to visit the Queen lying-in-state.

The presenters joined millions of Brits to pay their respects to the late monarch at Westminster Hall on Friday.

More than one million people - including David Beckham and Susanna Reid - waited hours to see the Queen's coffin ahead of her funeral today at Westminster Abbey.

At one point mourners had to queue 24 hours to see Her Majesty, however Holly, 41, and Phil, 60, were able to avoid the queue because they were let in to film a segment for their ITV show.

This caused a lot of backlash with fans and now over 5,000 people have signed a petition on change.org to get them axed from TV.

However Holly and Phil didn't do anything wrong as they were working as part of the media.

This Morning went on to insist that the pair "did not jump the queue" to see the Queen's coffin.

A statement on the programme’s official Instagram account said: “Hello everyone, we would like to clarify something. We asked Phillip and Holly to be part of a film for this Tuesday’s programme.

“They did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the Queen lying in state – but instead were there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on the event.”

However fans were very angry, with many asking for the pair to be taken off This Morning.

One said: "Phil and Holly of ITV who went straight to the front. Beyond disgusting, sack both of them, think they are above everyone else."

"I hate cancel culture but I’ll make an exception. Sack Phil and Holly," commented another.

However, others defended the pair who had picked up press passes so they could film inside Westminster Hall.

One asked: "Why are people digging out Schofield and Holly? Weren’t they there for tv purposes?"

Another asked: "You don’t know why they were allowed to do this, so why people are slagging them off is beyond me… & people saying they are never gonna watch #ThisMorning again… please of course they will.."

Phil started presenting This Morning in 2002, and he was joined by Holly in 2009.

Viewers have demanded that the pair are replaced and many have threatened to boycott the show because of what has happened.
