I dated PJay and I loved his stripper job – but now I’ve set my sights on another contestant, says MAFS UK’s Marilyse

MARRIED At First Sight's star Marilyse Corrigan has revealed that she dated Pjay Finch before the show - but now has her eye on another contestant from this year's series.

Marilyse - who is running the London Marathon on October 2nd, 2022, for Kidney Research only 11 months after she donated a kidney to her children’s father - said she was shocked to see her ex on the popular E4 show.

She began dating the 31-year-old dancer and performer after meeting for the first time at a Dreamboys concert.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun about her romance with Pjay, Marilyse said: "I am single right now, but I dated PJay before the show.

"I wasn't expecting to see him on the show, but I'm not surprised to be honest.

"He knew that I was on Married At First and he may have applied for my series.

"I was shocked, but I wasn't shocked at the same time."

"There definitely wasn't an overlap from when we dated and him going on the show - we only dated a couple of times."

Birmingham lad Pjay - who tied the knot with dental hygienist Jess Potter - works as a stripper for the famous Dreamboys tour.

Jess was left visibly stunned when Pjay revealed his lifelong career on their wedding day.

However, Marilyse, 37, admitted that she had no problem with his job and found it rather sexy.

She said: "The whole stripper thing, I knew Pjay was a stripper, and it didn't bother me one single bit.

"If anything, I think it's quite attractive.

"That's how I met him, I went to see The Dreamboys.

"I do get where Jess is coming from, she wants somebody that's going to be there on an evening and a weekend, especially if she has a family, not to be in a nightclub taking his clothes off but I don't think it's a problem.

"As long as he has a job and is making his way through life, I wouldn't have an issue with it."

The mum-of-two explained that she's reached out to a number of this year's contestants to offer them support following horrific trolling - and a few of the hunky grooms have caught her eye.

"I've offered them support, I've spoken to most of them. I spoke to George, Duka, PJay, Jenna, April and Kwame," she said.

"I said if they need any help or advice to reach out to me and I'll be happy to help."

The fitness enthusiast - who tied the knot with Frankie Spencer on season one - teased that business consultant Kwame Badu is her type on paper.

"I do like George he is lovely; I like Duka as well," she said.

"I like people like Kwame, that's the kind of guy that I would go for.

"I think he's a really strong character, he knows what he wants and is very to the point, he's quite intimidating really."

She continued: "I don't think he's leading her [Kasia] on, I don't think he's possibly attracted to her.

"I think he thinks she's beautiful but I don't think she's his type, but I agree with what he's saying, when he says 'I;m not going to just sleep with you because that's wrong, I need to be attracted to you and be further on for that to happen'.

"He could go the other way and completely fake it but he's not.

"So I do actually like him, but I always go for people like that."

The star said she'd happily sign up for another series on the E4 show - and reckons expert Paul C Brunson has the perfect match for her.

"Yeah, I would go back on the show, as long as they find me the right one," she told us.

"Paul from the show told me they had two other husbands for me originally, so he said he was going to possibly get those contact details."

Marilyse spilled the beans on her thoughts on this year's contestants including controversial bride Whitney, who has been branded as the "worst bride" by fans.

"Whitney has been painted as the villain like Nikita [Jasmine] and now we are starting to see her shine," Marilyse said.

"The only one I think is a bad match is probably Thomas and Adrian, I think they're so the opposite, they clash, the others I think that there is potential."

Marilyse is running the marathon to support Kidney Research UK’s aim of freeing people from the risks, fear, anxiety, and limiting nature of kidney disease.

The brave star donated a kidney to her children’s father, Shaun Bell, who was suffering from polycystic kidneys and required an urgent transplant in 2019.

After losing her father when she was 16, she didn't want what had happened to her to happen to her two kids, Callum, 16, and Josh, 13.

While her own kidney was not a match for Shaun, Marilyse was able to participate in an organ-sharing programme, allowing her kidney to be donated to a stranger while their donor's kidney was determined to be a match for Shaun, forever transforming his life.

Speaking ahead of the marathon, Marilyse said: "Recovery comes in waves from being okay to tough, there will be times when I'm feeling really tired, but I've been kind to myself and take it easy.

"It's taken me a few months to get back, I wouldn't say I'm totally back to before but I'm definitely not far away. At first, it was a shock to the system.

"It means the world to me to be running the marathon; I've been wanting to do it for years and having the opportunity to run it for Kidney Research after donating a kidney is the icing on the cake.

"Just raising awareness to people out there that donating a kidney is doable, you can still do things after you've donated a kidney, such as running a marathon."

Kidney Research UK is the largest charity in the UK committed to preventing kidney disease from claiming lives.

They support cutting-edge research to save lives by better understanding the causes of kidney disease, existing treatments, and the searching for a cure.

Marilyse's mission is to ensure that people live healthier lives, are aware of what kidney disease is, have regular kidney health checks, know if they are at risk, and are aware that they can donate a kidney if one of their loved ones needs aid.
