Holly Willougby and Phillip Schofield look sombre as they view Queen’s coffin on day off from This Morning

THIS Morning stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been pictured joining well-wishers viewing the Queen’s coffin at Westminster Hall.

The presenting duo cut sombre figures on Friday as they were pictured joining the thousands of grieving Brits.

Phil, 60, wore a black smart suit and a tie, while Holly, 41, opted for an elegant black dress with silver button along the front. 

Mum-of-three Holly wore a face mask as she stood in the queue to view lying-in-state, after she peacefully died last week Thursday.

The TV hosts joined a separate queue for press and were taken into a press gallery to film a TV segment for Tuesday’s show.

Wearing lanyards around their neck, they were seen looking solemn as they waited in line.

“They did not get to pay their respects to the Queen in the same way as queuing members of the public but they filmed in a section put aside for press,” a source told the Mail Online.

This Morning’s Friday edition has been cancelled as ITV has special royal coverage in the lead-up to the Queen’s state funeral.

It comes after Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid revealed that she queued for seven hours with her mum to see Queen Elizabeth II lying in state on Thursday.

The host, 51, is now one of the 1.7million people who have visited the late Monarch’s coffin in central London, ahead of her funeral this Monday.

The journalist, her mum Sue and a pal queued for seven hours and 20 minutes to pay their respects after her death on 8 September 2022.

Last night at 9.42pm, Susanna told her 885.5k followers on Twitter: “Evening – along with my lovely mum and her very good friend, I have just experienced a moment in history – witnessing the Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall.

“At once majestic and peaceful.”

Susanna continued in a separate tweet: “If you are planning to queue here are our tips.

“We joined at 1.23pm near Butlers Wharf and entered Westminster Hall at 8.43pm – 7 hours 20 mins.

“Wear the comfiest shoes you own. Go with someone if you can, although everyone in the queue was friendly.”

She also told her fans not to carry too much in a bag and there are toilets and cafes on route.

There is also water for those in the queue and liquids are thrown away at security.

Susanna also explained: “The first part of the queue is for wristbands. Ours were given out at Tower Bridge about an hour after we began queuing.

“There is no queue jumping – people waited patiently for wristbands and once you have one you can leave the queue for snacks/loo stops & slip back in.”

She finished the thread by saying: “Once you enter Westminster Hall, it is worth every minute of The Queue. Utterly magnificent. Quiet. Respectful. Historic.”

Her Majesty died peacefully at the age of 96 on Thursday, with her family by her side at Balmoral.

Many are desperate to catch a glimpse of the Queen’s lying-in-state and face a mammoth queue which is at least four and a half miles long.

The queue reached 11 hours in length last night and is expected to get even longer today.
