MAFS UK viewers fear for ‘hostage’ bride as two couples leave the experiment

MARRIED At First Sight UK viewers have been left fearing for a “hostage” bride after two couples left the experiment.

Fans were left feeling uncomfortable watching Lara, 49, and Richie, 51, walk away from the E4 dating experiment last night.

The couple had several bumps in the road after tying the knot in scenes earlier this month, with Lara wanting to end the relationship.

She simply explained that she believed Richie was not the man for her, and decided to walk away, leaving Richie “heartbroken”.

He told his former wife that he had thought she was “the one” despite them “hurting each other” in their short-lived marriage.

Before the couple went their separate ways, Richie was seen keeping his arm around Lara – which made fans feel uncomfortable.

“Why has Richie always got his arms around Lara? Looks like he is squishing her,” one fan wrote to Twitter.

Another chimed in: “For god’s sake Richie let go of Lara, she’s not a hostage,” as a third said: “Stop touching Lara every second.”

“The way Richie is ALWAYS holding Lara in some way aggravates me so much, just let her breathe,” a fourth chimed in.

While a fifth concluded: “Richie’s been clinging on like a limpet.”

It comes after fans were left convinced that Richie Dews and Lara Eyre would be the first couple to split after spotting clues.

While on a country stroll, Richie wrapped his arms around his wife prompting her to flash an unimpressed look at the camera.

Another telling moment saw Lara reveal to the cameras she was “terrified” by the way Richie was idealising their marriage.

Spotting the look of worry on Lara’s face, one viewer wrote: “This look. Every woman has been in a position where they’ve ended up giving this look.”

Another said: “This guy is coming on far too strong!!! It’s all so cringe to watch. Needs to cool down…he’s scaring her off!!!!”

A third posted: “Oh this is cringy. He’s not letting her go! It’s like she’s a hostage!! She’s obviously not feeling it is she?”

It’s not the first time Richie has cringed viewers out on his quest to find love on TV – as he previously headed to Take Me Out.

Back in 2010, Richie bagged himself a date with contestant Tasha after serenading her in the studio.

The pair seemed to hit it off after they enjoyed a water sports date and then went out for a romantic candle lit dinner.
