Inside EastEnders newcomer Hersha Verity’s link to This Morning and VERY different career before Nina Gupta role

THIS Morning fans might recognise the latest EastEnders star - if they've got a long memory.

Hersha Verity joined the cast of the soap as Dr Nina Gupta last month.

But back in 2016 she was one of This Morning's celebrity chefs and was seen trying to get Eamonn Holmes to enjoy a curry she'd made.

Hersha was seen in a vintage clip on a Friday edition of the show with Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford.

She was known as Hersha Patel on the show, filmed before she married Johno Verity.

Eamonn told her: "I think the thing that's putting me off is the colour. But really nice."

Dr. Nina Gupta was among the staff for the Panesars' new surgery in, after making a house call earlier this year to help Kheerat with his stomach pain.

Harsha said after revealing she'd got the role on EastEnders: "When I read Nina’s character breakdown, I thought, I want to play her.

"She sounds like she has all these qualities I aspire to have. Complete confidence, no fear of failure, goes after what she wants.

"So that side of her I was so drawn to, then her connection to the Panesar family was interesting.

"There is a lot more to her that is slowly starting to unfold. She has a few wants and goals of her own that go far beyond the surgery. So I am excited for that to unfold!"

And cooking is just the start of Hersha's talents, with her online credits listing her as playing a doctor in forthcoming drama The Power.

She's also listed as having been one of the assistant producers on Strictly Come Dancing and on Graham Norton's Any Dream Will Do.
