Mo Gilligan secretly splits with Hollyoaks star Sophie Wise as he tries to crack America

TELLY comic Mo Gilligan has split with his girlfriend of four years after months out of the country trying to crack America.

The Masked Singer judge has separated from former Hollyoaks actress Sophie Wise, despite them moving in together at the start of the year.

Mo, 34, who hosted this year’s Brit Awards, has been travelling between their London home and LA to make new game show That’s My Jam.

A TV insider said: “The split is totally amicable and they are still friends despite what’s been a difficult time.

“He is such a hot property in the US right now, as well as still being in demand in Britain, and work has been overwhelming.

“There certainly isn’t any other woman on the scene. They just reached the end of the line.”

Mo and Sophie were secretive about their relationship and, even after he confirmed it in 2018, have not been pictured together in public.

They were dating before he hit the big time, starting out on TV on Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show in 2018 and a year later landing his own The Lateish Show on C4.

He is also a panelist on ITV’s The Masked Dancer but has had to step down for this series, which returns tonight, as he explores US projects.

As well as filming That’s My Jam, which will eventually be on the BBC, Mo has met Hollywood execs who love his cheeky-chappy Brit humour and are considering other work for him.
