PILLAR and Post were the first duo to compete on The Masked Dancer.

Who is The Masked Dancer UK's Pillar and Post?

The Masked Dancer season two saw the first ever duo take part in the ITV celebrity talent show.

The famous duo also made history as the first characters who had to leave the show due to injury.

Many guesses flooded in as to who could be the famous duo behind the mask.

Guesses included former Strictly husband and wife duo Aljaz Škorjanec and Janette Manrara, while others chose Ola and James Jordan.

The pair made their debut on the show with a jazz style performance to Please Mr Postman by The Marvelettes.

They failed to win over the audience in a head-to-head with Prawn Cocktail, but were saved by the judges.

After making it through to the next round they danced to Giant by Rag'n'Bone Man.

Original guesses by the judges included: Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden; Rochelle and Marvin Humes; and Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg.

However, Jonathan Ross plumped for Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.

Sadly, Pillar and Post's dancing journey came to an abrupt end as they had to leave the competition due to injury.

Pillar took a tumble and injured their ankle.

The pair were then revealed to be former footballer David Seaman and Dancing On Ice star Frankie Poultney - with judge Peter Crouch correctly guessing his fellow footballer after recognising his "safe" hands..

Joel Dommett said: "Sadly, Pillar took a tumble during rehearsals and I am absolutely gutted to tell you that on medical advice they have had to withdraw from the competition."

David said: "It was nerve wracking. I've played in World Cups and this is a lot worse."

Frankie admitted: "My husband hates dancing."

David then revealed that he didn't even dance at their wedding

The bottle caps in the VT was a hint to all David's caps for England.

The giant cheque was a clue to David being the most expensive goalkeeper at the time.

The clue "toe-tally seen stars together" hinted to their appearance on DOI's all star series.

And "H20 is a hard topic for me" was a clue to their shared experience in the skating competition.

Pillar and Post were just one of 12 acts who will be taking to the stage to perform.

How does The Masked Dancer work?

During each episode of The Masked Dancer, the judges are given clues about who is behind the mask.

They are showed a small clip where hints about the character's career, youth and personality are given.

The celebs take to the stage to show off their moves, which could help with any guesses as to who they could be.

Each episode the judges choose who they want to be revealed, up until the final when the last one standing will be crowned the winner.

When is The Masked Dancer on TV?

The new series of The Masked Dancer began on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

It is on Saturdays at 6.30pm on ITV and .

The judges who returned to the programme were Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall and they were be joined by Peter Crouch.

Peter has taken over from usual judge Mo Gilligan.

Joel Dommett is once again the host of the show.

The final airs on ITV on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
