Hollyoaks casts star who’s been on two rival soaps – but do you recognise her?
HOLLYOAKS cast Angela Lonsdale as Joseph's mum Gill in a major storyline - but where have you seen her before?
The actress is best known for her roles in Coronation Street, Our Girl and Doctors will be joining the cast as Joseph’s mum, Gill.
Angela will first appear on screen as Gill when Felix (Richard Blackwood) and Scott (Ross Adams) turn up to her family home in search for evidence to prove her son, Joseph, is involved in Saul’s murder.
In the coming weeks, Angela will play an important part in the current knife crime storyline as Gill goes to big lengths to defend her child.
The storyline began earlier this spring when student DeMarcus Westwood made the decision of carrying a knife in order to protect himself from bullies.

PC Saul Reeves intervened and advised him against it, and onlooker Joseph filmed the interaction.
Later, Joseph fatally stabbed Saul, but DeMarcus is blamed due to the misleading video being leaked.
Talking about joining the Channel 4 soap, Angela says: “I can’t wait for the viewers to see this important storyline unfold over the next few months.”

Angela is best known to audiences for her work in Coronation Street, where she played policewoman Emma Taylor, who marred Curly Watts.
She then took a regular part in the long-running television series The Bill.
She also played Sue Buchanan in Holby City, and DI Eva Moore in Doctors.
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 7pm on E4 and 6:30pm on Channel 4.
