RICHARD Osman has revealed new House of Games episodes are on the way - and it's sooner than you think.

The popular BBC Two quiz show had been airing repeat episodes for months, before disappearing from TV schedules to make way for Wimbledon in July.

However, when the tennis tournament was over, the show didn't return, leaving fans gutted.

Thankfully, host Richard, 51, delivered some welcome news on Friday, taking to Twitter to say there were 100 new episodes on the way.

And fans don't have to wait very long to see them either.

Richard wrote: "Hooray, new series of #HouseOfGames starts on Monday Sept 5th. 100 new episodes! New players, nice prizes! Same terrible host and trophy!"

House of Games fans immediately replied to share their delight, with one writing: "Hooray, I have so missed watching these with the family and yelling the answers at the TV."

Another added: "Oh my god, finally! Been making do with Celebrity Catchphrase for months and need rescuing."

A third tweeted: "Good news tweet in an understandably bleak timeline this morning. Love #HouseofGames."

Meanwhile another shared: "Thank goodness. Feeding the addiction with old already seen episodes on Dave just isn't working..."

House of Games first aired in 2017 and has aired over 400 episodes across five series so far.

Richard will continue to present the show despite stepping away from his co-hosting role on Pointless.

His final episode aired last month, and after introducing the episode, Richard launched into a heartfelt tribute to his co-star Alexander Armstrong.

However, he hadn’t yet announced that this would be his last episode of Pointless.

He began the emotional exchange by explaining: “I was just in an interview, and they always ask about Pointless at the end of it.”

Richard continued: “They always say, ‘And how’s Pointless?’ and they say, ‘What’s Xander like?’

“And I always say how lovely you are, and it occurred to me, I don’t tell you in person often enough.

“So I just want to say how lucky I am to work with you.”

House of Games returns to BBC Two on September 5.
