Idris Elba watched me on Love Island – now I’ve got my eye on top Netflix role, says Dami Hope

INSPIRED Love Island star Dami Hope is eyeing up a career move after meeting Hollywood actor Idris Elba.

The pair met at the premiere of Elba's new movie Beast in London.

Irish lad , 26, admitted he was blown away when the leading man said he'd tuned into Love Island and was a fan.

"I spoke to Idris earlier. He said he’d watched one episode of Love Island – he watched the first episode when I came out," he told The Sun.

"I mean he knew my name, so that’s a good thing. I’m a bit gassed about that."

Dami left his job as a micro biologist when he headed into the Love Island villa.

He has now set his sights on acting and thinks a role in Netflix hit Top Boy would be right up his street.

He added: "I can change my tune easily. If I need to be gangster – I can be gangster.

"I haven’t had any acting lessons yet, but I’ve watched a lot of movies."

and London girl , 22, placed third on Love Island earlier this month and have been going from strength to strength ever since.

They became official during their stint in the villa, and they're going to tick off another milestone very soon.

When asked if they had moved into together, Dami exclusively told The Sun: "No, but I feel like maybe September half-way is when we’ll start looking for a place together."

Dami, who is from County Wexford, has moved to London - which has made his relationship with Indiyah much easier.

He told us: "I’m living wit my grandma right now. She lives in south London, so a lot of my family are trying to keep me there for a while.

"It’s nice because I’m spending time with my grandma, but I’m always going to be an Irish boy."
