Coronation Street fans baffled as they finally figure out Paul Foreman’s real name

CORONATION Street fans have been left stunned after the mother of twins Paul Foreman and Gemma Winter revealed she gave them different names.

Paul (Peter Ash) has been in the ITV soap since 2018 - but only recently viewers have learned his real name.

During a scene, the twins’ mum Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) was in the Bistro and she struggled to pay for the meal while saving for Joseph’s school uniform.

She ended up referring to Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul by their full names – Gemini and Apollo.

Fans were stunned at the revelation and confused at how it had never been mentioned before.

One wrote: "Apollo? Crikey!! No wonder he changed his name."

A second said: "As if Paul and Gemma’s real names are Apollo and Gemini!"

Another added: "Gemini and Apollo is that Gemma and Pauls real names!" alongside a series of crying with laughter emojis.

Upcoming spoilers show Bernie will come face-to-face with her long-lost sister Fern - played by Corrie veteran Gabrielle Glaister.

Jane talked about how she gets mistaken for Gabrielle all the time so she came up with this story idea.

Jane told the : "Gabby and I are constantly mistaken for each other with people saying they have seen one of us in something when it was the other one.

“We have often laughed about it together but then I started thinking it might be fun to have her in the show as Bernie’s secret twin or a doppelgänger.

“I was so chuffed when they told me that they had devised this storyline and that Gabby was on board.”

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
